Can someone recommend a dolls house for a toddler?

Hi all I'd really appreciate help with finding DD (just turned 2) a dolls house.

I'm unsure wheather to go wooden, plastic tat, ELC/LITTLE PEOPLE or sylvanian families.

I'm tempted by the asda one for £35 as we have a mix of little people, Happy land with a few Sofia the first (current obsession!) & Disney princesses thrown in.

Mumsnets advice much appreciated!
Thanks in advance Wine

VTech Baby Toot-Toot Friends Busy Sounds Discovery House looks fun. Amazon at the moment is charging £25 :)

Dd had a Little People one from about 1-3 (which tied in with lots of other Liitle People stuff we had), then got a wooden one for her third birthday, which she plays with a lot (she has just gone 4).

We've got the Tidlo one because it's pretty. DD loves it. It's more expensive but if you shop around you can get it more cheaply. It is very solid.

We got DD the Asda one in June for her 3rd birthday. It is very good quality for the price and I would definitely recommend! It doesn't come with any furniture though- that's an extra £15 on top. If you have other things already they'll be fine though

We got the Playmobil 123 one last year for DD, she loves it and it's been the most played with toy she got, it comes with a family and furniture and the doorbell rings when you press it.

We bought the asda one for dd's 2nd birthday. She just turned 3 and she still plays with it every day.

The asda one looks great value. We have a wooden elc one that we have painted ourselves. I don't think sylvaian families is suitable for a 2 year old.

We have a wooden one from toys r us, it came with furniture etc and gets played with by my 4yr old and 7yr olds. Have had it two years? And still going strong.

My STBXH bought our DD the Asda one for her 2nd birthday this week. It's lovely. Really lovely. And good value for money with the extra furniture sets. He said it was a bit of a bugger to put together but it looks great and she loves it

The toys r us one is similar to the asda one but the toy r us one comes with the furniture etc. It's often on offer in the run up to Xmas. I think it's £50 now but goes down to £40 somwtimes.

Saz12 · 07/11/2015 22:27

Gave DD the ASDA one last Christmas, she still plays with it. Is very sturdy, the paint finish is good, and I though easy to put together, and is pretty.
It's a fairly standard sized house so furniture and dolls from other makes should be fine.

I've not seen the toysrus one to compare, though.

ilovehotsauce · 07/11/2015 22:38

The asda one is sounding very good! Thank you ladies.
I was wondering about if the asda one would work with other sets, I've seen nice bits of furniture in gltc and on Amazon but wondered if they'd fit and if the variety of play people we have would also work?

There was a Fisher Price Little People Disney (Belle) House, in Home Bargains, today. It was £12.99. That might be helpful to someone anyway.
