Would a 24" or 26" bike be better for a 12 year old

She is not that confident at riding
She is about 5 foot to 5 foot one so not very tall for age.

I have no clue and googling is giving me conflicting advice!

Unless its a surprise, going to a bike shop with dd would be best. They would match frame size and wheel size for you to get the right size and plenty of growth room.

Ds is 9 and is about 4'10 and he has a 26" bike. I think a 24" would be too small for someone who is 5'1 and still growing

Go to a good bike shop. At that height she can have an adult bike with a small frame.

Ds2 is ten and similar height and we are just about to buy him an adult size bike.

The bike shop should find her a bike that fits, but I imagine that a 26" one would be right, as my 8 year old has a 24" bike.

26 inch wheels on a small frame bike is what you need.

Thanks . It is a suprise so cannot take her to check. Have ordered a 26" teen frame bike.
