Did I miss the memo? Nowhere sells tinsel any more. I haven't looked at buying Christmas stuff for at least a decade ages until this year, and tinsel seems to be completely passé! When did that happen?!

From what I saw yesterday it has ALL moved to a b&m home bargains near me.

ja9r · 03/11/2015 20:45

Hahaha!!!

wigglesrock · 03/11/2015 20:45

Yup, it's all moved to Home Bargains - it's tinsel town at the minute Grin

PinkSquash · 03/11/2015 20:46

My local Wilkos had every possible colour of tinsel in today, plus the £shops and any local tat shops you may have.

dementedpixie · 03/11/2015 20:46

Deffo home bargains

Finallyonboard · 03/11/2015 20:50

There were a few tinsel options at Blooms.

xalyssx · 03/11/2015 20:51

There's some at Dunelm Mill.

traviata · 03/11/2015 20:52

fab tinsel at Wilkos, several lengths fell into my basket.

also lots on ebay.

it is all nice and thick these days, none of the meagre stringy stuff I fondly remember from my youth.

eastwest · 03/11/2015 20:53

Yes, Wilkos!

Chocolatekeepsmesane · 03/11/2015 20:57

The range had loads today too

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/11/2015 21:04

I drove past a £ shop that was chokka with tinsel.

I must say, I smelled some tinsel in Dunelm Mill and I wasn't enamoured.................

Bearsinmotion · 03/11/2015 21:05

Bah, no Wilkos or Home Bargains near here. May have to venture further afield! We do have a Dunelm Mill, but I am trying to avoid that as I want to buy all the Christmas tat throws, cushions etc!

They had some our Tesco Extra store today, not a huge amount but some nice colours. Almost brought some but decided against it, wish I had now as DD loves tinsel and wants to cover the house in it!

ANiceSliceOfCake · 03/11/2015 22:19

bears oh I always want all that Christmas stuff, the pillows, throws, bedding all look ace, then I realise I'll have to either store it all year or have penguins in my lounge in summer.

Davros · 03/11/2015 23:38

I got Xmas cushions last year Blush and just bought an Xmas pudding doorstop. Sorry for hijack. I love tinsel, 99p store usually has it

Bearsinmotion · 04/11/2015 05:58

Hmm, all I found was "tasteful" expensive pine garlands, obviously shopping in the wrong places! Looks like I need to go to Dunelm Mill for some penguin cushions Grin

DrasticAction · 04/11/2015 10:50

I love tinsel, Love the smell, the noise, the flutter the effect.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 04/11/2015 13:08

Garden centres seem to have it in their Christmas sections around here.

Bearsinmotion · 04/11/2015 14:35

It was garden centres I was going to - they had a couple of bits (PS6 each!) but only silver and gold Confused

InQuiteAPickle · 04/11/2015 17:30

There's loads in tesco. In EVERY colour!

Bearsinmotion · 04/11/2015 18:11

Gah. Went to Dunelm and it was still only three colours, red, silver and gold. Will try Tescos next!

I am sure Matalan had some because I was tickling ds with it. :D
Didn't notice colours or range though
I also love tinsel and don't care if it's not particularly classy.

landoflostcontent · 05/11/2015 21:46

We have not had tinsel on the Christmas tree since our brainless cat swallowed some. We did not realise until she was, um, having some difficulty passing it. It was a bit like starting an outboard motor...

EdithWeston · 05/11/2015 21:53

I saw the biggest tinsel display with the most colours I've ever seen in the Christmas shop at Gates Garden Centre in Rutland.
