My limited pool of knowledge remembers them as being noisy, expensive, and spending more time in pieces on the dining table than actually outside.
However DS(11) wants one and DGP's are happy to oblige. Will this be the gift that causes the family to fracture due to its inappropriateness, coupled with the fact that my DP's live 250 miles away so won't have to listen to its incessant revving, nor have their dining table taken over by indiscriminate small oily parts? Or will it be a marvel that will make DS the envy of his friends and allow him and DH to male bond over their greasy rags?
