I bought dp a big present but I want it myself.. I really really really want it myself but it was quite pricey and can't afford to buy anything else. What should I do? Keep it for myself and just give him stocking fillers (I'll look like a w*nker) or give it to him or ask him for the money and so he can give it me as my present (that will ruin his surprise though) AAAARRRGGGGHHHHHHH could I be so selfish?

give it to him then use it yourself all the time? Would that work?

MascaraOHara · 06/12/2006 19:30

yes if I insisted he keep it at my house but I want my own name on it I don't want to have to compromise.

i'd say keep it unless you think he would love it as much as you and get him something else. not sure about asking money for it.

any chance of dropping large hints that you'd like a wii for your birthday? then you'll have one at each house?

MascaraOHara · 06/12/2006 19:44

He wants a WII, I didn't know that til yesterday and I'd already bought the xbox. He's never been a gamer... I'm the more gadgety one

is there someone very kind and generous in your life who might consider giving you money for christmas? eg parents? that you could then go and spend on worthwhile stuff like electronic games (ie get him a wii and keep the x-box)

MascaraOHara · 07/12/2006 13:27

Not going to be able to get a Wii they're sold out everywhere. I think he's going to buy a TV for my bedroom (against my better judgement but I figure both gifts can be considered for both of us). I don't like to have a TV in the bedroom but he's wanted one for ages.

He still doesn't know what he's got.. I'm really looking forward to Christmas day!
