Present ideas & stocking fillers for 7-11 year old girls

tsumtsum · 30/10/2015 17:43

DD's main presents are now sorted, so I'm just looking for a few stocking filler ideas.
Ideas so far are:
a new my little pony comic book
furry socks
maybe a onesie or dressing gown
a plushie
sweets
She likes my little pony, cute little teddies with big eyes, comic books and all things fluffy and cute, but not too babyish if that makes sense!

I also have an nieces who are 7 and 11 to buy for. They like crafts and animals, so was thinking nice stationary or craft stuff, or more cute fluffy things. But again not too babyish, especially for the 11 yo.

Any ideas? What are you getting your 7-11 year old girls?

Funko Pop vinyl figures are a big hit with my 8 and 10 year old. The 10 year old is collecting the Hunger Games ones and the 8 year old get My Little Pony or Harry Potter ones.

For their stockings they're getting fingerless gloves, fruit flavoured lip glosses from Claires, sharpies, cheap earphones, Beanie Boos keyrings, sweets.

Pretty much anything from Smiggle. They had a sale on recently so I got some bargain stuff then.
Henna Tatto kit and a glitter body stick from Boots.

DD has had her various Klutz Paper Fashions books for several years now and still plays with them/uses them to make birthday cards. I've linked to the basic one but there's also historic and ball gown and fantasy variants.

Audio books get lots of use here, we do quite a lot of long car trips.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/10/2015 15:34

Yes to Klutz. My two used to really like those when younger.

insan1tyscartching · 31/10/2015 17:27

Dd is twelve but a recent hit was adult colouring book and nice pencils

Nevergoingtolearn · 31/10/2015 17:51

The microwaveable hotties went down well here last year. Generally under a tenner when on offer at bhs/Sainsbury's.

Everydayaschoolday · 01/11/2015 01:50

Hobbycraft have some lovely kids sewing kits. I got the felt bags (now limited stock) and have purchased many of the others before. DD (7) loves making them with me (she can do these on her own as well, as the kids ones are mostly pre-punched felt and all pieces are already cut). www.hobbycraft.co.uk/sewing-and-knitting/sewing-kits?filter=ProdType~Kids+Sewing+Kits/

Some great ideas here thanks :)

I'm looking at Claire's accessories bits and beanie boo keyrings for DD. And I'm sure DD would like the MLP funko figures - what do they do? Are they just for collecting? Confused

LOVE the hobbycraft sets and klutz ideas for the nieces Flowers

Has anyone seen any nice onesies for 8 year old girls? I'm thinking cute animal type ones...

Dancergirl · 02/11/2015 14:42

John Lewis have some lovely furry animal onesies.

BiddyPop · 02/11/2015 14:55

DD will be 10.

So far, I have a onesie (bribery for something else - she knows we bought them) and a pair of fluffy fleecy pjs (too large last year and she suggested putting them away for this year, very Christmassy patterned), the 2 different Santa bath bombs from Lush and a naice hot choc for the Christmas Eve hamper. (DH and I also get new PJs and hot chocs, and I also get a Lush bath bomb, in that).

I just bought a personalized Nutella today. She eats it a lot!

A Coke lip balm (from Claire's Accessories).

2 "bugs in glass" from Tiger, and a swimmer toy for the bath (she may be about to move into double digits but still loves her baths - she got 10 new Ducks last year to replace the old ones (from babyhood, gone quite mouldy). And a small set of watercolour paints. (Tiger is great for little bits!).

A new bath duck from a trip through Germany (very Germanic dress)
A keyring from another trip
A book about chess strategies (she plays)

I have yet to get sweets, and fruit will be a last minute thing.
I will be getting something useful/practical (like underwear, socks, hair bobbins etc, possibly also including guitar plecs).
I may get a second book, a story.
And I may find another few small bits and bobs for fun.

All to fit the poem I use about what should be in your stocking:
Something to eat,
Something to read,
Something you want, and
Something you need.
