Paw patrol lookout

My ds has seen this toy today it is so overpriced at £45! But he really wants it. Cheapest price I've found is £37. Will it be worth it for the "wow" moment? I was going to get duplo castle as main present (much better value) but can't/won't do both.
Is Argos or anywhere likely to have a sale before Xmas...should I hold my nerve for Black Friday?!

In a similar boat. DS has mentioned several times that he is going to ask santa for the PP look out. My issue is every review I've read for it says it's utter gash, falls over, falls apart, lift doesn't work, disappointments all round. I refuse to spend £40+ on tat.

Have bought some other paw patrol toys but I'm not buying this. Just hedging my bets come Christmas day he'll be so distracted with Lego and chocolate the look out will be a distant memory.

In the meantime if I should see it at a seriously reduced price I'll let you know!

In similar years we have bought equally cheat produced shit (moshi monsters HQ anyone? Any of the peppa pig houses? Hmm ) and they have been utter tripe but the kids just bloody love it.
Ds has mentioned this Pp toy and we will probably end up buying it for him as he will still love it even if it doesn't work!

katienana · 29/10/2015 20:03

I would accept it if it was £20 but I just can't see how it's worth £40!!!

My sons best friend has the PP lookout and its total shit. After a few months it's broken, tatty and not played with. Sorry

CakeNinja · 29/10/2015 20:56

I agree, looks like a flimsy bit of moulded plastic to me too Grin

glasgowlass · 29/10/2015 21:01

DS2 wants this also. I've looked at it. It wouldn't last 5 minutes. So flimsy & not at all sturdy enough for children to play with. Very overpriced for what you get. I'm surprised as the majority of other Paw Patrol toys seem really great.

fraggle84 · 30/10/2015 06:29

I've given in and bought the tower!

its not as flimsy as I expected but agree it's not worth the price (£39)

If you do buy it make sure you get the £12.99 dog & cars though as with the cheaper ones the dogs don't come out the cars so not use with the tower

Argos are rumoured to be doing a 3 for 2 next week

BathshebaDarkstone · 30/10/2015 06:34

Luckily DS hasn't asked for this yet, I'd have to say Father Christmas can't afford it, we'd have to see if he got enough Christmas money. Smile

MamaTeeTee · 30/10/2015 07:20

DS has asked for this too but it looks like a pile of shite. I'm going to get him the law patroller and the little vehicles to go with it I think but even the patroller is £60!

cadidog · 30/10/2015 08:36

Thanks for the feedback on the lookout tower. DH managed to pick up Rubble + digger for about £15 from The Entertainer (not online), they'd had a PP delivery on Wednesday and by yesterday lunch time there were only a few items left - we bought the last Rubble so I guess they're pretty popular this year. And overpriced.

katienana · 30/10/2015 20:22

Whoever decided to put dogs and vehicles and rescues together is a marketing genius!

We have the lookout tower it is rubbish. Constantly tips over as not well balanced and ds hardly uses it.

BrianButterfield · 30/10/2015 22:26

The little figures that come with the badges are quite good - there's a little button on them that makes something pop out, like Rubble's digger. We have three and they get played with quite a lot as they're the right size to mix with other play figures.
