Hi Katienana....

'Tis the season for cake making...well it's every week in my house so hope this helps...

Asda bags of 750g of mixed fruit are 84p....think Tesco do some value ones for around the same price. They are fantastic. I've bought seperate bags of the expensive stuff only to find that they're full of pips and really dry.

Aldi for nuts and cherries. Nuts are really cheap in Aldi and fantastic quality.

Unfortunately Aldis fruit is expensive for what it is.

Enjoy your baking.

I buy sugar from Costco (I don't use it in tea/coffee but if I need to buy in the supermarket, I;m always Shock how expensive it is)

For fruit, I just use sultanas (I search for special offers now)
Fresh orange/lemon rind

Things like cherries, nuts, flour in Costco is in huge packs so unless you buy to make loads or share out, it isn't a saving.

For nuts, I look in Holland and Barrett ( remember those shops that had the huge containers of loose nuts and dried fruits? Cereals and flour? )

Aldi own brand Amaretto does the job.

My cake won't get done for a while yet.
