I can't be the only one who buys a couple of Xmas gifts for my pets Grin Blush

I have a cat but also buy for my mums cat.

This year I am getting mine a personalised cat treat tin, personalised fork and a couple of treats. I bought him a new stratching post tower earlier in the year for his birthday as well as a track type thing with a ball in so theres nothing "big" I can get him.

What are you getting for pets? Smile

The Christmas tree is the cat's personal winter wonderland, thoughtfully provided by her underlings, loaded down with stuff to bat, and wires to chew.

I buy for our 3 Dogs,3 Rabbits the cat and the Hamster, only 1 Hamster to buy for this year,we lost our other little one a couple of weeks ago Sad,I also buy for my Dad's Dog and my Brothers Dog and we buy bits for MIL's cats, she rescues cats.

I usually buy them pet food treats and some pet toys each,we also get a pet treat advent calendar for each of our Dogs and my Dad's and brothers dogs as well.

Animal gifts probably cost me more than the human ones! My mum has a dog, my sister has three, my MIL has 2 and we have 1. It's a bit easier now that most of them have no interest in toys so it's just food gifts, but I hate trying to come up with interesting or unusual things.

girlywhirly · 26/10/2015 10:59

I fill our cat a stocking full of the cat treats she likes, they last her around three months. Her most favourite thing on Christmas day is bits of roast chicken at lunch, she would eat that in preference to treats any day!

The guinea-pigs have their hats (Santa hats and a festive bobble hat) for their Traditional Christmas Eve Photo.
Then they tuck into the Christmas Vegetables Peelings (Brussel Sprouts and a guinea pig is NOT a good combination Xmas Envy

We have three dogs who will be getting new collars from here:

hicksandhides.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=65

They have a stocking each as well that's normally full of treats and tennis balls. Poor DCat will be in cat prison as we are going to my DP's this year but will have a special tin of food and new collar as well.

My dog has a stocking full of presents which are all wrapped up ready for him to open on Christmas morning. As soon as he come down the stairs, he sniffs out which is his. It's full of squeaky toys and goody bits. He also has presents under the tree too. Things like new beds or blankets and whatever else won't fit in the stocking. My dog loves Christmas

zippy paws toys :)

MrsPoppy · 04/11/2015 09:44

Haha my dog is very spoilt. For her first christmas I bought her a hand sewn stocking with her name on it. The lovely lady who made it said "I won't put it on FB incase it's a surprise! I didn't have the heart to tell her it was for the dog! I also got her an advent calendar and had to then buy husband one too!

I reuse the same Christmas toys each year. She enjoys the unwrapping the most! Then I'll add some treats and anything new she needs like lead etc. she has a Christmas collar too.

PurpleDaisies · 04/11/2015 09:51

Our guinea pigs get a mini Christmas dinner too (half a sprout, piece of carrot, cabbage leaf) - we wrap their food dish loosely with newspaper so they "unwrap" it on Christmas morning.

maryann1975 · 04/11/2015 19:44

I make sure we have a pouch of Turkey flavoured cat food in and that's her lot, although my mum will no doubt send proper Turkey scraps for her again. I am going to give the cats protection league a small donation as we had her from there and think they do really good work with all the unwanted cats throughout the year.

DeltaSunrise · 04/11/2015 20:32

It never even occurred to me to buy our dog a Christmas present.

This will be his first Christmas with us, can't have treats as he's on a special diet due to allergies.

This thread had got me thinking though, he needs a new bed, collar and lead. I could wrap those up for him. He loves a squeaky toy that he can rip to pieces and pull the squeaker out so might get him one of those too as its Christmas.

I'll treat him to a tin of tuna on Xmas day I think (he can eat fish but not chicken/beef/pork/lamb ect)

DeltaSunrise · 04/11/2015 20:37

Just remembered that k9 naturals do dried salmon tails. Too expensive to buy here usually but I'm sure I can stretch to a couple of packets for Christmas. Grin

clippityclop · 04/11/2015 21:42

Hi 70! First Christmas with piggies and neeed hats! Where do you get them please? Love the idea of wrapping up food in newspaper!

Pigleychez · 04/11/2015 23:23

We have a 5mth old pup so our first xmas with him. Ive already bought him a squeaky ginger bread man teddy and a christmas top to wear (only a tabbard type thing from poundland as I fear he will be trying to rip it off!)
I'll see how well he behaves wth the mas tree before buying anything else though! Shock

KittyCatPumpkin · 05/11/2015 09:56

My dog is getting a stocking with some christmassy toys, an antler chew (these last ages!) and a scarf I'm knitting her (more for photo ops) she will be getting an advent calender too. The cats get a tin of tuna and a new toy to play with (big one) plus i make my own catnip toys, so they'll get new ones of those too
