If you're going away for Christmas, when are you travelling back?

We're planning to visit family for Christmas and, having endured a horrendous journey home last year, I want to work out the best day to travel back. So I thought I'd take a quick poll of MNetters and find out when most people will be travelling!

I'm thinking some people will travel on Sunday 27th to get back to work on Monday but more people will stay the weekend and travel back on Monday 28th. So I'm thinking Sunday would be a better day to travel but maybe Tuesday 29th would be even quieter?

Prediction is snow in December this year so you may have to plan accordingly.

On 28th. It's a public holiday.

Monday is a bank holiday.

By the 29th people that are going away for new year may be travelling.

I think the fact that the Monday is a bank holiday will spread some of the travelling across the two days. I will still be kicking relatives out on the Sunday as they will have been here since the day before Xmas Eve and three full days is enough.

Forgot that the 28th was a Bank Holiday. Sunday might be the way to go as the relatives may well have had enough of us by then!
