Robust as DS breaks a lot of things... not too expensive either.. was thinking £30 or so but am open to suggestions.
Thank you!

LO is getting one from Argos for about £20 - not sure how good it is, but will do for a first cd player. It comes in different colours - she's having lilac but there was also silver.

Don't get this one from Argos (comes in different colours, so be warned). Dd1 was given it for her birthday in June, and it's already pretty ropey, only works erratically. I'm thinking of getting this one to replace it -- it's generally better to get a lower-spec version of a better make.

elc do one for 30quid. but is a singalong one available in blue or pink - would it be considered too young for 7yo?

nb is cd player only - no tape or radio. also battery operated but can put own adapter on it

Any ideas for ones that aren't 'children's' or that are the cheap end of decent makes?? My dd would like one too, but not childish (and not expensive for me!)

Last year we got a great one from Woolies. it was only £14.99 and is great, DS2 plays it a lot. it's a cd player and a radio, no cassette player. Don't know if they have similar this year. It's sliver, and doesn't look too childish, IYKWIM

Can't do link i'm afraid, but have noticed they have a pink one on the website for £19.99, and are advertising a silver Phillips one also for £19.99

BarefootDancer · 07/12/2006 18:48

Here's the Philips one from Woolies

That's the one barefoot.
