I am willing to spend my hard earned cash to buy a couple of games to entertain us all during those long christmas evenings.

Can anyone recommend a couple of sure-fire winners?

we like quizzy things and music things. Play that tune is a xmas fave of ours, has cards with colour coded bits and an electronic piano mat. Good for when you've had a few! Also like millionnaire and weakest link, good for playing in teams.

Wordy things are good. Am sure ILs would not get on with anything musical!

best all-round game ever is "Articulate" ! It is a huge hit in our house and can be played by mostly all ages and an almost unlimited number of people - we have played guys against girls, three in a team etc and is always a winner. Plus it is quite speedy so doesn't drag on for ages.

Agree with coolmama about 'Articulate' it is a brilliant game though we call it 'the marriage-breaker'

Cranium's good, and we also have some game DVDs - name that tune sort of thing - that adults seem to enjoy.
