Has anyone seen any weird/different tree decorations this year? We like random things on our Christmas tree, we try and buy something to add to the collection each year, we have doughnuts, toad stalls, globes and flamingo's Grin looking for something to add to the collection, the more random the better.

Try Paperchase! They always have things slightly more towards the "strange" end of the scale! Grin

Asda have some odd ones this year. £3 each. Burger, fries, shopping trolley, frog. Nice rainbow one but out of stock online

We went to Germany a week ago and they have decorations in the shops. The gherkin is a popular one, and apparently its a tradition whereby they hide it on the tree and whoever finds it gets an extra gift.

We bought two, to avoid any issues between the DSs!

We have a (mimi) log that shits gifts Grin

Paperchase had some great ones. Santa on his Summer holiday was a good one. Spotted a unicorn and a couple of flamingoes too.

I like to buy a classy bauble and a weird bauble every year.

I saw quite a few Christmas gherkins in NY last year Peaz We were slight baffled but now I know! Should've got one.

WaggleBee · 20/10/2015 02:29

Although weird is the wrong word. 'Unique' is better for what I mean. Grin

The Germans do some truly weird and wonderful ones.

This was my particular favourite a couple of years back. Because it's just SO festive! Confused

Pretty random though Grin

We were looking in Harrods' Christmas shop at the weekend, and they had some weird stuff.

I was quite tempted by the individual cable car, which had a light inside that changed colours. It wasn't cheap (about 15 I think), but also not silly money for something you would use again and again.

There was also a really cute fluffy snowman head, but it was almost 50 pounds, I think, so we were worried that it might have been made from baby seals (clueless emoticon). And big fluffy pompoms in different colours, also 40 or 50 pounds - we assumed they must have been made of something of animal origin too at that price.

IsItMeOr · 20/10/2015 08:51

Just googled to see if I could find the cable car ornament and found this instead. Do I need one?

elQuintoConyo · 20/10/2015 09:17

IsItMeOr that cable car is amazing Xmas Grin I may have to buy one...!

M&S have some lovely glass things this year - balloons, cubes and hexagons in bright colours and little domes with Christmas trees in them. I was looking at little clear bunches of grapes earlier (nicer than they sound) and I got these to hang in the window

attheendoftheday · 20/10/2015 11:56

John Lewis had some odd ones last year, a phone box I remember, maybe a double decker bus?

Vespula · 20/10/2015 15:53

R0nJ0n that made me Grin "Get a head for Christmas" tag line!

I don't think that would help in my efforts at trying to keep the cat from climbing the tree each year, though!

That mouse has seriously unsettled me. There is something so sinister and hideous about it.

I honestly think I wuld have to vacate any premises immediately that had that on a tree.

ChippyMinton · 20/10/2015 21:41

I have a green glass peapod waiting to debut this year Smile
It was a tough choice between that and an aubergine!

SouthWestmom · 20/10/2015 21:45

One year I did the whole tree in sweets . Candy necklaces, peppermint canes, threaded marshmallows, tree chocolates, etc. Looked amazing, lasted not very long - dd has a December birthday and had a sleepover party!

Senpai · 21/10/2015 05:24

Here's a couple I may or may not get:

Unicorn Man!
A Santuar (Santa-Centuar)

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 21/10/2015 06:24
