DD is mad keen for Santa to bring her one. I had a very quick look and was bombarded with colours/names......

Are they like Tamagotchi? i.e. the outside might look different but they all do the same on the inside? Or does each one have its own personality/aim?

I'm not keen personally. She adores her Tamagotchi and one of those is plenty [fgin].

they are horrid. Don?t do it. Pixelly nasty waste of cash!!!
If you have to get one, buy the cheapest one around to satisfy her needs and then buy something she will enjoy!
Altho - saying that, if she really like her tamagotchi, she might like it. The house one is fairly cute...

Hmmmm - wondering about this too for dd who is almost 6. She hasn't asked for one, but they seem to be popular and I wonder if the novelty will charm her. Any more thoughts from anyone?

sweetheart · 05/12/2006 14:52

rubbish! dd (6) wasted her birthday money on one that she never plays with!

It starts off with basic functions and is supposed to develop more as you play with it - trouble is dd puts it down and forgets about it. When you turn it on the "pixel chic" has a right arse on and says "hey, I thought you were my friend, where have you been"

Dd got very bored with this very quickly! I wouldn't waste your money as they are really £££££ for a load of crap IMO!

Good to know, thanks. I'll cross it off the list of potential Christmas/birthday gifts.
