I really don't want to wait until bedtime on xmas eve to put the main tree up but if I put it up earlier I'll be redressing it everyday, twice a day if I don't.

my 14mth old is a nightmare - climbs up on the dining table, over the fire guard etc etc so know too well that the tree would be on its side in minutes!

same problem here - not planning to spend the next 3/4wks shouting NO CLIMBING! so I'm trying to work out the closest time I can put it up before getting really angry!

In our house the door has glass panels. Just in case I sound like Scrooge.

just put a wanted add for a wooden play pen

the tree is planned to go in the dining room witch is dining room come kitchen

we've had the dc's jsut using the lounge today as dh is redecorating the dining room and its been a nightmare trying to keep them in a confined space (even if cbeebies was on!)

plan two is to wait till dd2 is asleep on xmas eve and let dd1(3.9) stay up late and help decorate the big tree and in the meantime suffice with the 3ft fibre optic perching on the windowsill.
