this is truffles recipe I used (but without rum)
here

and fudge recipe I use is chocolate and vanilla

170g can evaporated milk
450g golden granulated sugar
125g butter (cubed)
1tsp vanilla extract
100g plain chocolate (broken into squares)- though I used milk chocolate.

line 18cm square tin

pour evap milk into saucepan, add 4tsp water. Add sugar, butter and vanilla. Heat gently and stir till all sugar dissolved.

set timer to 10mins and turn up heat. Mixture will bubble.

turn up heat again and keep stirring. Mixture should turn darker.

When timer goes off, turn off heat and stir in chocolate.

Tip into tin and leave to set (should take about an hour). Cut into squares and cover in cling film.

Use saucepan much bigger than you need as it will bubble up alot.

truffles last about a week in airtight container.
fudge keeps in airtight container for about 2 weeks.

If you don't cook fudge mixture on high for the 10 mins (say cos your pan isn't big enough ) it will take about 3 days to set (this will in no way stop your dp and lodger from scoffing it though)

it probably be me scoffing - dh ain't interested unless its haribo!

Did a quick search, and came up with a thread about Malteser and chocolate tiffin (which someone did with white chocolate Maltesers, and added dried cranberries). Sounds delicious.

oh, that looks good too Jackie - will add to the shopping list
