I think I'm finished. Eek - how many times do you think I will twitch between now and then Xmas Grin

BeaBoo · 18/10/2015 19:20

English I'm looking for cheap pyjamas too. I've seen a couple of nice pairs on the Asda website (cute fleecy ones for £6). Looked at Matalan but they were all £9/£10 etc. Sainsburys seems to be the cheapest so far and they often have 25% off sales, but I think I've just missed one. I'm going to try Primark.

DragonMamma · 18/10/2015 19:22

Thanks Englishrose!

Organisednotobsessed · 18/10/2015 19:22

I agree with Trixy's John Lewis tip for Black Friday iPad Minis. I paid £149 for my Mum's last year. I'd buy first thing in the morning though as I think the price went up later on.

wonkywheel · 18/10/2015 19:25

Didn't know whether to put this here or on the poncetastic thread but does anyone know the best budget-friendly rum to use for making flavoured rum? Is Tesco/Asda's own ok or rough as bricks?

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2015 19:25

Does anyone know if the sainsburys toy sale will be online? There's only one thing I want really and it's 20 miles away..

DragonMamma · 18/10/2015 19:25

What do people think of the iPod touch? My almost 8yo is nagging for a smart phone (not happening) so is this a good in-between option? She only wants it for apps - her Samsung galaxy tab no longer holds any charge

woodwaj · 18/10/2015 19:29

I'm sure apple do one day deals on black Friday. I think it's the only day for discounts with them!

I don't have an i pod touch but a friend has just bought one for her 7 year old and he's chuffed with it

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 18/10/2015 19:31

Just rejoined after the whole password thing! Thanks so much for the amazing bargains I've been taking advantage of while lurking. Pretty much all of my Christmas shopping has come from here. If anyone sees a good deal on hatleys I would be grateful. I really want to get DS a tractor dressing gown and pj's but they're pretty expensive. Thanks

Oreocrumbs · 18/10/2015 19:39

I went to the big tesco today (Durham) and they had loads of clothes reduced, including fancy dress, the summer version of the princess dresses are down to £6/£7. Also picked up some tiny baby size clothes for baby Annabel for a couple of pounds.

For the rum for flavouring then smart price is fine, you're adding so much sugar and flavouring it really doesn't matter what you start with by the time you're finished. As a personal rule (hic) aldi is where I go for cheap spirits I think that's the nicest and best price.

wonkywheel · 18/10/2015 19:43

Oreo - thank you! One food site said categorically not to use cheap spirits but don't think they have Xmas budgets to balance Hmm Have an Aldi nearby so will head there asap, thanks!

VinylScratch · 18/10/2015 19:45

We got our MLP busy book from TK Maxx.

Oreocrumbs · 18/10/2015 19:50

Wonky I've made them a few times and while I'm a fan of naice stuff if its just to drink normally, it really is just fine in the flavoured stuff. If when you taste it (after a while) you think it's a bit on the 'rough' side just add more sugar. It fixes everything Wink

scrappydappydoo · 18/10/2015 20:09

I saw mlp busy books in home bargains for 3.99 I didn't buy one as I was disappointed they weren't proper pony figures but weird button things.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 18/10/2015 20:14

whsmith seems to have the biggest selection of busy books, sometimes ones i havent seen anywhere else, i got the Home one the other day. they are rrp price so £7.99 but often there is discount vouchers on the reciepts. I tend to look at the self service tills if there is any or if not i buy a small choc bar or something to get one!

currently there seems to be a £5 off a £20 spend or 20% off voucher which brings price to £6.40ish :)

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 18/10/2015 20:15

scrappy that sounds like the stick on stories ones - our mlp has proper little pony figures in it.

nickdrakeslovechild · 18/10/2015 20:20

BeaBoo I got a lovely twin pack of pyjamas in Primark this week for £7. Long sleeved and cotton.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 18/10/2015 20:23

Sainsbury had a few busy books for 3.99 def had a marvel one and a newer frozen one and couple others.

We have loads busy books sometimes whsmith have them for £5 at the same time as 3 for 2 on all children books so great for stocking up on kids presentthink last time we also had a £5 off £20 spend so got 6 for £15!!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 18/10/2015 20:24

Jojomaman had some lovely short pjs in sale

Hatley pjs are lovely but pricey

scrappydappydoo · 18/10/2015 20:28

Ah I've seen them a couple of places but they all seem to be the buttony ones so presumed that was the only kind. Might keep a look out for a proper one. Thanks!

SideOrderofChips · 18/10/2015 20:39

dragon dd1 is nearly 9 and has an old ipod touch and its great for their age

evelynj · 18/10/2015 20:42

Dragon - Id say rather than get a new iPad touch could you get a 2nd hand phone & not put a sim in it? Loads of decent iphones 4 & 5 about that would do the job? I've been thinking of giving ds my old iPhone for gaming. But yes, iPod touch or old phone would do the job!

Reastie · 18/10/2015 20:47

Ok, I'm off to bed in a min (I know, rock and roll) so the question is, to new thread now or to wait until morning?
