What does he already have? What does he like?
Scooter?
Balance bike?
Wendy house?
Slide?
Ball pool?
Tickets to see a show on Boxing Day?
Fancy dress box?

We bought Tidmouth sheds last year for our three year old. Big box, big addition to his wooden railway, plus some wooden Thomas trains if he is into that? Argos had price as £35 the other day?

GreatSoprendo · 11/10/2015 08:59

My almost 3 year old is having a balance bike and the Thomas Tidmouth sheds to go with his train set.

My 3 year old ds is getting a buzz lightyear and a selection of sylvanians. He loves small world play and loves animals. Win Win!

My 3 yo DS is getting Imaginext pirate ship. He's just got the castle and some emergency service bits for his birthday which have gone down brilliantly!

Happyland or Wow Toys

A relative bought Ikea kitchen, but he barely touched it Shock

We bought Playmobil police riot van which its played with constantly - various family members are put in jail as soon as they walk in the door Grin

He got varous instruments - tambourine, kazoo, drum. Crafty bits. A big chalkboard-sticker that we stuck up in the kitchen where he can help write shopping lists! He loves that.

DS is a December baby, so he also got a 3-wheeled Spiderman scooter.

My 3 year old is getting a wooden train set from ikea. Other options were going to be a wooden pirate ship or a scooter.

Darn it tidmouth sheds is out of stock in Argos, I thought I had Christmas sorted.

I also plan to get an easel with painting material although DH isn't as keen due to the potential mess and there will be some paw patrol related crap too.

At that age my DS loved his duplo. He got a couple of the bigger sets & loved them. Still pays with it 3 years later with his younger sister.

My 3.5 yo will be getting a wooden shop from asda and more food for it. He loves his till and his cooker. I'm also getting a portable DVD player for him (a cheap one from argos). Have already bought him a spiderman outfit. Will get him a game for his leap pad a Bing toy and top up with mini cars, craft stuff, bubbles etc.

fraggle84 · 12/10/2015 15:27

I've got my eye on the wooden ship too. Have you seen one built up?

fraggle84 · 12/10/2015 15:27

Meant the asda wooden shop not ship!!

Oh, yes, Ikea trainset - bloody fabulous! Played with nearly every day, topped up with extra track, used in imaginative ways - DS even stacks bridges on on top of another to make a tower etc. Indestructable.

Someone on MN said they can be 'made' to be compatible with Brio sets, if he receives any (ie squished in and banged with a mallet a bit Grin)
