Christmas and also his birthday is the week before.

Not lego. I always buy him lego and I think even he is legoed out!

No nerf guns. No computer games.

He's quite into school/learning. I was thinking maybe a science kit for one of the presents, any recommendations for a good one?

Hotwires. My son loved this. I got it for £30 last year

Otherwise, how about a board game? E.g. Forbidden Island is a cooperative game

BendyBusBuggy · 10/10/2015 21:41

The Labyrinth or this?

Love both those suggestions. Thanks, don't have boys or indeed kids that age so not sure what they're into.

Can't find Hot Wires under £40 though.

One of my DS's favourite presents at that age was from the Science Museum website - a metal detector. But, they have loads of good ideas there.

If you have time you could set an alert on camelcamelcamel

Another idea would be books? The bookpeople do good sets.

Thanks, will set an alert for the Hotwires incase they come down in price.

Like the idea of a metal detector and have also just seen a science museum telescope which looks good.

Thanks for all your help.
