What are your 5/6/7 year old girls wishing for this year?

I'd love some ideas about what my girls might like, they are 5.5yrs and 6.5 yrs old.

They don't really watch much tv and I think if they saw more toy adverts then they might have some idea of what they'd like but they have no ideas! We'd probably be looking to spend about £60 each (plus little bits in their stockings and PJs on Xmas Eve) but could go higher for something really great.

What are your girls wishing for this year?

DD1 will be almost 7 at xmas.

She wants a TV/DVD combi for her room and walkie talkies.

I will also be getting her some books on space and the human body, as these are her two areas of fascination at the minute.

Also, some Melissa and Doug bead sets, a badge maker, a watch and a tamigotchi.

For her stocking I am getting her (and her sister) a slinky. And some science putty/slime just for DD1.

My dd's birthday is 18\1 so its always a bit tight around that time. £100 (maybe £150 I have just gone on mat leave) fo xmas. She has started writing her list tough and I let her have a look through the Argos book. I am making her a couple of sets of hats, gloves and scarves. Arts and crafts type things and. Shes getting loads of books too (she's a real bookworm)

She wants a pop up shop (tent thing)
Cash register
Dress up clothes
Playdough set/s
Squeezey(??) (makes slush puppy things
Cookie making set

My ds1 (I am 41+1) will just be getting j pop homemade gifts - sure he won't mind lol x

Doublebubblebubble · 12/10/2015 10:47

J pop = just... Don't know what happened there lol

Good ideas here. That Vivitar karaoke machine has been in my Amazon basket for a while (49.99) so the Costco deal sounds great. Shame I am nowhere near one!

You can't go wrong with a nice Aquarellum/Djeco craft set - these are beautiful - and the Djeco ones come in a useful box that can be reused. Mine also get a nice dress in their stocking (courtesy of Boden this year).

I'm thinking of a CD player for DD1 whose birthday is in December - but decided against the ELC one as it is battery-run and I think a mains-operated one would have more lasting power.

sliceofsoup · 12/10/2015 11:08

Love the Glitzi Globes. They are going on the list.

Is it my list or DD1s list? :o

DownAndOutAndAbout · 12/10/2015 11:19

EmGee Mine had 2 of these CD players for a few years, I'd recommend them. www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9151981.htm

I wanted to make sure to get one that was CD rewritable compatible, so we can burn discs for them and MP3 playback. Lots of the ones I looked at that seemed to be aimed at children (with a character on or in pink etc) didn't have that.

Baby Born all-singing, all-dancing, all-weeing doll
Disney Animator Anna Doll

she'll be getting both of these for her birthday though, one form us andone from PILS, so will be back to the drawing board soon.

AndLeavesthatweregreenturnedto · 12/10/2015 13:01

Why don't you take them to a toy shop for a browse? That's what I do with my ds to see what he really likes. It can actually be a nice day out in the run up to Christmas

v good idea. we took ours to harrods toy dept recently and they had a really good look at stuff whilst we hung back.....observing Grin

Other than that op Djeco sets, gorgeous, furby, interactive toys like little live pets. diary, books...

Sleepingbunnies · 12/10/2015 22:53

6 yr old loves dressing up too so have got her the Cinderella dress (from the new Cinderella film) and nanny and grandad have bought the DVD :)

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 13/10/2015 18:29

DD7 - Lego, digital camera, Furby

DD(almost)5 - Lego, Dalek plush, Amelia Pond doll, Cyberman and Weeping Angel toys.

LexLoofah · 13/10/2015 21:33

marble run - my 5 yo DD plays with her friends one whenever she gets the chance

Duckdeamon · 13/10/2015 23:29

Dd2 is 5 and looks set to maintain her tradition of asking only for items that are not real. Like a cartoon unicorn or strawberry shortcake's puppy. She would like the kareoke though for sure, thanks for that idea!

Dd1 never knows what she wants, other than whatever she's seen most recently at friends' houses. she wants all her toys to be bath toys - should be old enough to know better - sneaks stuff in and it gets mouldy.

Elvish · 14/10/2015 23:06

DD is 6 and wants healys and Aqua beads.

I've just ordered a watch for a December birthday girl from Mothercare in their half price toy sale, £6. It has past/to and the mins as well as hours. Looks OK as a starter and much better price than others I've seen.

MustBeLoopy390 · 14/10/2015 23:19

Dd will be 7 in the run up to Xmas and has asked for (between birthday and Xmas)
The descendants junior novel
The descendants dolls
Monster high new DVD and doll from that film
Clothes
A tablet
Avengers Age of Ultron DVD
Mjolnir (with sounds apparently)
Captain America shield and suit.
So far we've got around half plus little stocking filler type gifts, really need to find stockists of marvel hair bobbles/clips as she's a huge superhero fan

Letustryagain · 15/10/2015 16:48

DD, 6.5 at Xmas, has asked for Our Generation Dolls (Ayla in particular) and the set of PJs for the doll that you buy separately. Also she wants Little Live Pets.

I've ordered the doll from Father Xmas
The PJs from us
Two lots of the birds (from my DParents and my Dsis)
Various books
Clothes
Possibly another Our Generation Doll from my FIL

Her main present from us is a TV with DVD player so that when her friends come around to play they can put it on. Also it will last her years, I'm not expecting her to get much use out of it yet as she's not really into DVDs. The trouble is she has so much 'stuff' (Playmobil Princess Castle, Playmobil Preschool with Playgound, Playmobil Campsite) that we just don't have the space for anymore stuff and to be honest, she doesn't really play with it all.

Shemozzle · 15/10/2015 20:22

Lego Elves! I have to admit I'm pretty excited about this range too.

Pobspits · 15/10/2015 23:11

Dd has just turned 5

Birthday things she received / Cmas ideas:
Bike
Roller skates
Equestria dolls
Craft stuff - LOTS of craft stuff
Nerf secret message gun
Barbie dream house
Cars for her dolls to go in and one with a horse box
Lottie dolls

canto3 · 16/10/2015 22:25

DDs are getting Sylvanian Families stuff this year. I am VERY excited, which almost guarantees that they will be meh Hmm
