Are you going to make/bake gifts this year and if so what are they?
I am so interested!

There's a thread a bit down with lots of ideas :) I'm feeling quite inspired :)

Oh God, please don't. My dsis does this every year and it's excruciating. Spends loads of time doing (badly) things she's seen on instagram and making rancid chutney etc. We all have to go along with it, agreeing with her on how clever she is and it's such a money-saving ruse and yadda yadda but actually I'd rather get anything - anything at all, even a Boots gift set, even a fucking Toblerone from the duty free - than yet another jar of noxious stuff that I bin as soon as she's out of the door. And she spends loads of time on it all as well! All of those shitty chocolates etc. Bleurgh.

I tend to make things that go into food hampers for older relatives and I bake gifts / make puddings for the neighbours. One year a friend from work gave me a jar of homemade jam, beautifully wrapped. It was delicious. I think homemade gifts done well are lovely, though perhaps more welcome as 'gesture' presents. I wouldnt give my parents or siblings a homemade present.
