Wreath - inside the door?

I suspect that if I hung a wreath on the outside of the front door, it would not be there for long.

Is it alright to hang it on the inside of the door instead, or does that look a bit daft?

Not daft as such but possibly a bit ignored as it's behind you as you walk in.

I hang one on the door to my living room. They smell lovely and the door is open all the time so it's not swinging around.

Someone on MN had their wreath stolen last year and she spotted it on a neighbours door. She'd made it herself so she promptly stole it back :) The thread is probably in Classics. There were some very funny suggestions like attaching a rape alarm to it so a siren would go off if someone tried to pull it off the door !

I remember that thread - very funny!

I am not sure that it is not bad luck to hang a christmas wreath on the inside of the door

When I saw the title of this thread, I immediately remembered the thread from last year where the neighbour stole the OPs wreath and hung it on her door. Xmas Grin

We have a pretty quiet neighbourhood and I still wouldn't leave it outside the door. It's sad, really, as it shouldn't even be an issue to worry about people stealing a wreath off a door.

I hang it on the inside of my front door for the same reason. Looks lovely with the garland going up the stairs too.

Ha ha, I remember that thread too - it was hilarious.

I think on the inside of the door is fine or could you attach it to the front door, somehow, with really thick wire so it would be really hard to get off?
