Christmas Day activities for toddlers/young children

Hello all,

We will be spending Christmas with my family at our house. We have a two year old and I will be 38 weeks pregnant.

Some of our family members are not the most exciting people, so to avoid sitting and watching TV on Christmas Day I am looking for some activity ideas for the day.

The children will be 2, 3 and 11.

I am already planning to make a felt Christmas tree to stick to the wall with felt decorations, and I have seen a cardboard snowman with cotton wool balls to throw into it, both of which my toddler will love.

There will, of course, be present opening and a walk to fill some time in the day too.

Does anybody else have any fun ideas to fill our time?

That sounds plenty of 'organised' activities already. Just let them play with their new toys (and the boxes they came in!) the rest of the time.

In their presents I would make sure to include a jigsaw puzzles, new story book, skittles or something for the rellies to play / read to them.
