My lads are all a bit too old for a visit to Santa now, but I still want us to have a nice family Christmassy occasion somewhere in the run-up to the big event itself.

Any suggestions?

Can't beat a panto.

Where do you live? Any winter festivals on near you?

We quite often go to a zoo around Christmastime, as most zoos are open all year round, even on Boxing Day. So it's become quite a 'Christmassy tradition' for us, even though it's actually nothing to do with Christmas!

ooo...

I remember going to the zoo once in January.

Don't look at any of the animals who should be living in hot countries. That was a little depressing

Are they big enough for an outdoors ice skating trip. Last winter we went 3 times, to Hampstead Heath, Tower of London and Somerset House with Brownies. Really lovely atmoshere and dd talks about it loads.

We went outdoor iceskating last year, on Boxing Day, it was great fun, but the place isn't having the rink this year, boo hiss, lol.

The boys are going to panto with cubs in January so don't want to double up on that.

Zoo - interesting option.

Thanks.
