Have you got wooden train track and trains? It's our most played with toy.

Most of the brands fit together (expensive Brio, Tesco, local independent shops etc) with the exception of Ikea (well it will fit if you force it together!)

3 is the perfect age to start getting into it IMO. And the 6 year old (and various adults) will probably join in too IME.

Sorry should have said yes it is there go to toy that they play with daily - started when ds1 was 3. We have loads.

DS is 6 and wants a keyboard, stand, music, headphones and a microphone.

He's also getting a specialised push bike to help with his hobby. Does your DS have any hobbies you could buy accessories for?

He's never had skylanders so he's getting the first one that came out, which is now £10 on Amazon!

And then he's getting stationery, including spy pens and books ( Harry Potter box set, Dirty Bertie box set and Horrible Histories box set all from the book people).

DS is coming up to 3 and between birthday and Xmas (he is getting Imaginext stuff (castle and pirate ship, both half price in various places - reviews suggest they are good for ages 3-8), kinetic sand (mainly because I want it!), brio / bigjigs bits (bigjigs have just released some dinosaur themed train things), a marble run, and some Look Inside books.

DD is 3 and getting a Kiddizoom camera.

I'm planning on getting a Morphibian remote control car for my nearly 4 yo DS. I've also got him an ELC Young Mechanics set but I got it from TKMaxx last year.

My 5 yo DD is getting Frozen Lego set, Little Live pet bird.

For the eldest, how about Lego or playmobil? Galt book of paper planes and booma indoor boomerang are both good too.

The the little one, wooden train set? Bigjigs do brilliant additions if you already have a set, especially love the log loader. Orchard toys do a sort of road jigsaw which you can make different city set ups with.

Toy kitchen they would both play with, with lots of food.
Three year old - to spin offs, postman pat, peppa pig etc.
Six year old probably into games - ds etc, but also stuff like marbel run?

Lego & Duplo

My son 7 loves hero mashers. They are figures you can take apart and put together different. He has marvel ones but there are Star Wars, transformers and Jurassic world ones too. So you could have hulks body with iron mans head etc. both boys could play with it. Toys r us have a deal on the now with them buy one get 2nd half price . www.toysrus.co.uk/toys/marvel-super-hero-masher-captain-america-15cm-figure/0143790

He is also getting Lego sets and Minecraft figures.

I agree with the other posters so far imaginext, lego and playmobil are great things to start collecting. Loads of half price playmobil on Amazon atm and a sale on there own website. I think the imagenext castle is half price on Amazon, my ds aged 5 has it and loves it. Also toys r us are doing a 3 for 2 on all imagenext atm. Other things my ds's will play with are marble runs, mobilo, play doh and anything science/exploring nature related.
