my dh thinks he might like sat nav for crimbo - i don't know anything about it really, but think he would need one with the traffic info on to avoid congestion etc. does anyone know much about it or have one - are they actually any good? thanks x

they have navman in argos on special offer for £99 .i got my husband same make last year and it has been excellent for the money.if you wasnt to pay more the tom tom is apparently great but nav man is fine. i will give you number to order online in case they all go 5o4/0168.you dont have to buy online but you can reserve them at your local store.i actually went and got 2 yesterday ,for my son and daughter

We have the TomTom 510 and it is fantastic, easy to set it up (I set it up in the car park waiting for my daughter to finish her dancing lesson!). It also works as handsfree for alot of mobile phones - I think it would be better if you had an external speaker if using it as a handfree kit.

You can search for places using the full postcode and it will literally take you to the door rather than just the street.

Quite pricey but worth it if you will use it alot.

We have got an internal one already installed into the dashboard

BUT I saw on Gadget show last week them trying them out and testing them all {removeable ones}

I'll find you a link to the details

thanks guys for that - after much research and scratching of heads, i've opted for a tom tom 510, can't really afford it, but heh ho its christmas and my dh has had to put up with alot this year so thin he deserves a special treat...i wonder if it can get my 7yo dd to navigate from her bed to downstairs more effectively in the morning?

I think the traffic info is a subscription service, my dh has explained the options to me about six times but I have forgotten it all! (Will ask him)
