Are in! Having never bought Christmas stuff there before (I'm a 2015 Lidl convert) I'm hoping your recommendations are right. Have purchased the panettone, spiced gingerbread and spiced biscuits to start me off

brandnewandimproved thanks for reminder about coconut ice I had forgotten about that

MrsDeathOfRats · 30/09/2015 14:25

Panettone - I was very upset to only get one last year!!

Stollen and stolen bites - I ate far too many. Didn't see any of the gingerbread stuff last year but I was a brand new convert and could only go when I was at mums as don't have one near me :(

Am keeping fingers crossed that there is a lidl opening on the high street here and in time for Xmas would be simply amazing!!

The christmas spiced fudge is FABULOUS and a great wee gift for brownie leaders etc at £1.29. They get sold out quickly and don't get replaced before Christmas. So, last year I stocked up well in advance ...and then just munched my way through them one by one! Shock This year i will buy and store in the boot of Dh car!!

Im tempted to do hampers up for Mil and DM for christmas presents of all this lovely stuff

IDismyname · 30/09/2015 18:37

OMG I am panicking about stockpiling for Christmas, and its only September just.

Just breathe, Cocoa... just breathe.....

All their Christmas goodies are delicious.

Last year I was so gobsmacked at the price of turkey, goose etc in local supermarkets I bought a huge piece of pork in Lidl that was reasonably priced, served 12 of us and cooked beautifully with perfect crackling.

I will do the same this year.

Septembersunrays · 30/09/2015 18:47

yup same here lebkuchen fans....and yes pile on pounds, so not going near it all this year!! the eating and the buying, the eating and the re buying, the eating and the re re buying Hmm NOOOOOOO

Septembersunrays · 30/09/2015 18:47

Oh yes I got a goose there last year! 17 pounds and was excellent.

TheOnlyPink · 30/09/2015 20:00

Omg was going to go in today to check, but decided it was probably too early. Angry that Christmas fudge is like a gift from heaven.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/09/2015 20:23

Christmas Fudge - is it like a Christmas pudding flavour or spiced or something?

(I know this is a Lidl thread but the Aldi fudge is delish Wink )

loubielou31 · 30/09/2015 21:33

This week is French week and they've got croissant dough in a can. I have loads of recipes for nibbly things that uses this dough (brie and cranberry filled ones and that sort of thing) but haven't found it for a few years. Hooray for Lidl. the date is a bit short and it says on the packaging not suitable for home freezing. I reckon I can risk it though?
Lidl Gluwein (mulled wine) best and cheapest!

ARichVernacular · 01/10/2015 08:30

Habanero chilli almonds also delicious. I've eaten a can already.

contractor6 · 01/10/2015 10:20

The gingerbread which has jam in. Yumm, also the cherry liquors are good

carbcraver · 01/10/2015 10:23

Christmas fudge?! Oh my.
heads to lidl

TheOnlyPink · 01/10/2015 10:46

My lidl didn't have the fudge! Almost everything else mentioned in this thread was there. I'm starting to panic they aren't doing it this year! Will try a different lidl at the weekend!

Cherrypi · 01/10/2015 15:03

Noooo. Has anyone sighted the fudge?

GlowWine · 03/10/2015 20:04

Waaaait! It's really still quite early. Our lidl only had a fraction of the range out, I expect it to come in around the end on November when they get the food specials like lobster and goose.

GlowWine · 03/10/2015 20:06

End of October I meant!
