Worried about xmas day

I usually really like xmas and this will be dd's first Xmas so I should be full of anticipation but the past few days I've just got really worried about it. We are having my parents and dp's parents and brother on Xmas day and then will be visiting my aunt, uncle and cousins on Boxing day with my parents as well as calling in on dp's parents at their house.

I can already tell that both days will consist of doting gps and relatives wanting to play pass the parcel with my lovely dd, getting loads of pics etc and I just know that dd will get tired and upset by it all. I can just see it being a big stress for dp and I rather than a fun day and that makes me really sad.

just think, its only once a year. i know what its like with relatives that want to spend 24/7 with the DC but have no concept whatsoever of what having children is like, it is hard.

Its also hard to let go and let others take over with your children. Just do it and grin and bear it, and if its that bad, then next yr say you have plans when family ask about xmas.

IMO the first year is ok, your LO will be too young to realise whats going on and will eventually just fall asleep, but next yr your dd will be much more aware of whats going on. be assertive, tell them you have plans and that you want a family xas with just your family.

Just think that by the end of the day your dd will be shattered and will be asleep, you and dp can sit down and have a big glass of wine and say never Again!
