Playmobil set for 8 year old girl

DD has asked for a new playmobil set for Christmas. She says she doesn't mind which one, she wants it to be a surprise Confused She already has the camper van, swimming pool and a princess set.

She's not into pirates or anything 'fighty' and not particularly into animals either. I was thinking the campsite or hotel look good, but would like some recommendations before I buy - particularly because I want to get something that will hold its play value for a while (she's 8). Anyone have an older playmobil fan?

Dd was 8 in June. We bought the hotel last year - it has been played with loads and is a really big complete set. As you already have the swimming pool they would tie together nicely.

Campsite is lovely. Dd got it for her birthday. It was out all of the summer holidays.

TheOriginalMerylStrop · 28/09/2015 16:52

The vet's surgery is great and has had LOT of play here.

TheOriginalMerylStrop · 28/09/2015 16:55

this one

but just seen not especially into animals

I love the look of the tents etc

We have tons but it's all a big crazy random world, with knights, fairies, dinosaurs, and everything all mashed up.

TheGreatBigNo · 30/09/2015 20:52

Woah at the cost of the hospital Shock There's a children's hospital on amazon too that's cheaper but smaller.

The vet set is lovely but I can't see it appealing to DD unfortunately. Maybe when DS is older...
I love the idea of a crazy playmobil world with different characters. DD is very strict with her playmobil sets - the princesses aren't allowed in the camper van or pool Grin

I'm leaning towards the campsite now. I think DD will love that. I have to keep reminding myself to pick something DD will like not me

What about the aeroplane? The princesses etc could fly somewhere exotic with a pool on holiday?!

bigbadbarry · 30/09/2015 20:55

The school is good

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 30/09/2015 20:56

I think the campsite would be good as she can then have some sort of holiday camp set up with the camper van, campsite & pool. The playground is another option which would tie in.

Indole · 30/09/2015 20:56

I am 46 and really really really want the safe crackers I once saw somewhere.

EldonAve · 30/09/2015 20:58

We have the hotel and the school - both are good

TheGreatBigNo · 30/09/2015 21:26

Ilikesweetpeas DD would be horrified at the thought Grin

Another vote for the campsite - we have it and it's a favourite. It gets played with alongside various pony sets (there's a riding centre by the campsite, it seems!) The harbour cafe and a speedboat fit the holiday scenario too. DCs would love the playground to build it further, too.

shadesofwinter · 30/09/2015 23:40

DD (4) has and loves the campsite, and her big brother, who's just turned 8, often has a sneaky play with it too. They love setting it up most of all.

TheOddity · 01/10/2015 06:58

Campsite is a lot of fun to set up I must admit!

But we have the school too which is in a kind of carry case and it tidies away like a dream. It is also full of good scenarios. You could take the children on a school trip to the swimming baths etc and she could role play what happens at her own school and be a bossy teacher.

The playground is currently reduced on Amazon down from £47 to £27

I'd be tempted to get the playpark and this smaller camping set which is also reduced (was £17.47 now £12.99), they would both work with the camper van and be a really nice collection imo.

I saw the safe crackers yesterday somewhere online so must be an attainable goal.

The hotel is really good. I want the Victorian mansion.

TheGreatBigNo · 03/10/2015 12:23

I want the victorian mansion too waitrose but DD couldn't be less interested Sad She prefers the modern buildings but I don't

Thanks for playground tip english
