Hello all,

Hopefully the second message on the thread will contain a list of potentially useful links. I haven't checked through all of last years useful links so if I've missed any good ones please let me know and I'll amend.

I'll do my best to keep it updated with each new thread.

DD was watching some kind of Disney Christmas cartoon this morning so I'm feeling rather festive today :)

Thank you for all of the Paw Patrol tips. I have picked up one of those Busy books for £5 from TK Maxx which includes all of the figures (I think.....had to stash it away quickly!).

PamelaEwing · 17/09/2015 18:36

Hobbycraft Christmas shop is now OPEN!

Costco had really cosy thermal digital gloves in £9 inc vat, also had lots of toys, the ones I noted as really cool were the Care Bare giant plush teddies for £12 inc vat, Mr Potato Head super hero's set - 6 small Mr Potato's with super hero attachments was around £15/20 I think. They also had a Karaoke CD player in pink and black with one microphone, takes CDs and connects to phone (not sure if its wired or wireless) but it was only £33 inc vat which I thought looked great, better for a five year old than the ELC one I was contemplating... but then I chickened out at the last minute --what was I thinking letting my warbling offspring loose with a microphone--

RumAppleGinger · 17/09/2015 19:12

My neighbour is taking me to Costco tomorrow kiwi. Hoping that potato head set is available.

PoopPoooDeDooo · 17/09/2015 19:19

Thanks again for the ELC code Frog. Flowers They have quite a few star buys on at the moment where you get a free toy

PoopPoooDeDooo · 17/09/2015 19:20

Fudge I got the Wow calendar on Black Friday last year for £9

LikeSilver · 17/09/2015 19:25

Millie2013 My DD was 3 in March and she had a Playmobil calendar last year (the Christmas theme), she loved it. I've bought another for her this year.

Kraggle · 17/09/2015 19:36

I hope nearly 3 is not too young for playmobil as they will be dd's main presents! She's 3 in March and she is snaffled a few of DH's duplicate lego figures so thought playmobil Should be perfect.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 17/09/2015 19:42

DD has been playing with playmobil since she was two. DS was the same but we kept the little pieces back in a little bag until he could be trusted not to try to scoff anything smaller than a marble was a little older. DD realises biscuits are far better snack foods is thankfully more trustworthy with little bits and at just under two and a half loves nothing more than putting her playmobil baby in it's high hair or brushing playmobil people's teeth. I think it's a great toy that will last for years.

Kraggle · 17/09/2015 19:45

Thanks Flop that's reassuring. Ds only seems to try and ingest pennies so she should be ok by Christmas!

Kraggle · 17/09/2015 19:46

Dd not Ds!

Loki17 · 17/09/2015 19:47

Be careful with those paw patrol toys - I bought all 6 (they come in sets of three) from Amazon last year for £27 last year. They were selling at over £100 at some points. However, if you Google the UK release date then search online on the day you will get the best price.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 17/09/2015 19:56

kraggle in sure it'll be fine then but if not they seem well set up to work well still if little bits get lost or removed.
Oh and to anyone buying playmobil sets for the first time - seriously consider making it before you give it to your DC. Nothing says Christmas quite like spending four hours in the afternoon trying to get tiny pieces in the right place with an impatient child standing at your shoulder asking "is it ready yet" every two minutes.

Millie2013 · 17/09/2015 20:09

Thanks for the responses, I think I'll get her an advent calendar :)

nickdrakeslovechild · 17/09/2015 20:35

no no no, just went to order another spicery XL lucky dip for a friend and they have sold out!! I will keep looking, but if you see them up again please shout.

babsmam · 17/09/2015 20:50

I second making up the toys and playmobil before wrapping, it make Christmas day so much less stressful

Letustryagain · 17/09/2015 20:59

Iggi999, thank you for the suggestion, I had forgotten about Gumtree! I advertised them back in the summer and had a couple of queries from a guy but as soon as I said I wouldn't be in on the requested day but my DH would be, we never heard back. It spooked me a bit... But I will try again, thank you.

RJnomaaaaaargh · 17/09/2015 21:14

Completely not a bargain but does anyone know when the benefit advent calendar usually goes on sale? I'm absolutely desperate to get dd one.

Trumpton · 17/09/2015 21:16

Omg I love those Liberty wire signs.

IHeartKingThistle · 17/09/2015 21:49

Mine loved putting the playmobil together! DS would have been very annoyed if I'd done it for him!
