Hello all,

Hopefully the second message on the thread will contain a list of potentially useful links. I haven't checked through all of last years useful links so if I've missed any good ones please let me know and I'll amend.

I'll do my best to keep it updated with each new thread.

DD was watching some kind of Disney Christmas cartoon this morning so I'm feeling rather festive today :)

peanut I got this box of duplo when the price fell to £12.50. It's back at £16.99 at the moment but might be worth sticking in your basket and keeping an eye on it to see if it drops again.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 17/09/2015 13:35

The box of Dublo rumappleginger just linked to, is currently £7.50 in my local sainsburys (dalston) so worth checking local stores

Some brilliant book recommendations, thank you - I've made a list. I think we will ask MIL to save the kitchen for her first birthday - we do have room for it but it's currently taken up by a bargainous jumperoo which I'm guessing she will have outgrown at 1yo. The play food sounds like a good plan - the birthday cake sounds adorable.

Will definitely get her a stocking, those ones linked are really special.

Thanks for the ideas Flowers

Thank you MissRainbowBrite for the M&S code. Was just in store and about to get DD a coat when I saw your post SmileThanks????Has anyone ever had the WOW advent calendar? I think I've missed the boat on getting it cheaper, so wondering if it's worth the £20???DD will be 2 in December, has a milk allergy and doesn't really eat chocolate anyway but I'd like to get her an advent calendar of some sort.

GetTheFudgeOutOfRodge · 17/09/2015 13:46

Grr silly app adding loads of ????!

SitsOnFence · 17/09/2015 13:55

NoManJan if your MIL is keen to buy something fairly substantial, could I suggest one of the really big, sturdy sand and water tables? This is the one we had

It might seem like a strange choice but, it is low enough for a baby to pull themselves up to standing with and can be used initially for just cruising around and putting toys into and out of, then for messy play (shaving foam, cornflour, water, dried lentils, depends how brave you are...) and finally for sand and water (or ours always preferred just water in both sides).

Perhaps most importantly, it can also be stored outside!

My DC used theirs regularly (summer and winter) until they were 4/5 years old. It's nice to have something they can use on those nice autumn/winter days when the sun is out, but you wouldn't want to sit on the grass!

Chocolateteabag · 17/09/2015 14:11

NoManJan - how about a small ride on? DS2 still rides on the Mamas & Papas second hand caterpillar which is soft enough for a crawler to play with this is the most similar now

Or as your DD will be too young to really care how about something personalised for her room?
I love these Liberty print fabric wire names - shame I just have boys
or a www.notonthehighstreet.com/daisyandbumpnurseryart/product/animals-on-parade-nursery-print personalised picture]]

Chocolateteabag · 17/09/2015 14:14

*ListenUp & Brenda" these are the magic dinosaur eggs I got last year. They are really small though s really just a one off stocking filler present.

You can also get them on Aliexpress if you search under Magic Dinosaur eggs.

Someone up thread asked for a L'Occitane free gift code to replace the expired one in the OP. SHEA gets you the gift in the picture when you spend a minimum of £35. Until 21 October.

I just got my son the new minecraft game on pre-order for Xbox 360 from Amazon. It's due for release 31/10, if the price drops before then you'll pay the lowest price. If the price rises you'll pay the price at pre-order £23.49 which is for Xbox 360 at the moment. I think this could be popular for Xmas so I'd get in early!

GloGirl · 17/09/2015 14:43

Letustryagain- what you want is Gumtree, find the one for your local area, upload some pictures and the person will email/text/phone you and pay cash on delivery. Easier than eBay, less annoying than on here!

Justyou · 17/09/2015 18:03
