Hello all,

Hopefully the second message on the thread will contain a list of potentially useful links. I haven't checked through all of last years useful links so if I've missed any good ones please let me know and I'll amend.

I'll do my best to keep it updated with each new thread.

DD was watching some kind of Disney Christmas cartoon this morning so I'm feeling rather festive today :)

Noeveryone has ignored my request for Dinosaur egg information Sad

PamelaEwing · 17/09/2015 09:43

Brenda I don't think there was a link, just a mention of them as they were popular on last years thread. Just do a search in google for hatching dinosaur eggs and you'll get loads of results come up! Sorry, cAn't provide a link as I'm on my phone.

Thanks for the M&S code - saw some lovely dressing gowns yesterday which I've just ordered :-)

NoManJan · 17/09/2015 09:46

Can someone help me...my DD will be 5 months at Christmas and both sets of grandparents are now nagging asking what to get her (first GC on both sides). Can anyone give me suggestions as I'm sleep deprived, clueless!

GerrardWinstanley · 17/09/2015 09:46

Look Fantastic have 20% off with code FAST. Discount declines by 1% every hour. Free delivery too.

They do these offers quite often so definitely worth signing up to email updates

NoManJan · 17/09/2015 09:53

George at Asda have a sale online currently. Paw patrol pjs £3 for example. Free click and collect from stores.

GerrardWinstanley · 17/09/2015 09:58

Nomanjan my two loved these as babies and toddlers. Megablocks were also good. My nearly 5yo still plays with them now. Or how about they just buy your DD something small for now and some vouchers for the Early Learning Centre or somewhere. That way you can get your DD something a few months later when you know what she likes to play with.

Also Flowers for the m&s tip off. I saw a gorgeous dress for DD2 in there last week and promised myself I would buy it if they had a 20% off deal. Oh dear, I fear I'm about to splurge Confused

Reastie · 17/09/2015 10:04

Good luck chips, looking forward to hearing an update.

Busy week here so am just checking in and catching up.

NoManJan - 5 months, tell them not very much! Musical toys, wooden rattles, bells, clothes, dribble bibs - funky giraffe ones. Weaning items - Tommee tippee bowls and spoons and a nice melamine set with knife fork.

A nice walker, a Big box type one so it won't tip that also has shapes and other doodahs to play with on it.

Or a Jumperoo.

NoManJan · 17/09/2015 10:17

GloGirl...I have told them so but it has fallen on deaf ears. MIL started talking about a play kitchen (!) So I'm trying to stem the flow of unsuitable presents that take over the house while she's still so small. I like the idea of weaning items and musical toys.

That looks good Gerrard. ELC vouchers are a good idea too. I can play up the idea of her choosing her own toys perhaps.

I might suggest some books too. Anyone have any favourites to recommend?

GloGirl · 17/09/2015 10:20

All books are favourite books! My boy has loved some really unusual ones. Ones that were well past his age range were still adored but easilly destroyed.

Dear Zoo, Peepo Baby, Where's Spot and the whole collection of That's Not My... are good.

Kraggle · 17/09/2015 10:21

Thank you for the cars, I couldn't think what to call them and putting toy car in Amazon just brings up normal ones! Will look at the WOW ones as well.

RatOnnaStick · 17/09/2015 10:25

Yes the That's Not My... Books are perfect. Im sure there are some box sets around to make a nice present.

Any Thomas take n play sets going cheap anywhere?

Kraggle · 17/09/2015 10:33

Definitely the Thats not my books, also any by Julia Donaldson and those little library sets where you get 4 little books are still a big hit with my 2 year old and have lasted since she was tiny. Also classics like the Hungry Catapiller, Each Peach Pear Plum and the books that just have colours or shapes or a picture a page like book, doll, yoyo etc or abc books. Dd has always loved them as they normally have big bright pictures.

I am a very old poster whose rejoined under a new name following the whole MN site issue recently.

I have some really good Playmobil to sell and don't want to do Ebay unless I really have to (I've never sold anything on there before - only bought Blush).

I bought DD some lovely Playmobil bits last year but she changed her mind and asked for something different. I hung on until her birthday and in the end confessed what I'd bought but she has the Princess Castle and the Preschool now so doesn't want them. They are brand new, still in their boxes and I need to sell them.

I've got the Large School and the Children's Pony Farm. Does anyone know anyone who might want them? I did put a thread in the Christmas section earlier in the Summer under my original posting name but I think it was too early to get any interest.

As they are brand new and unopened I would be looking for around £25 for the Pony Farm and £60 for the Large School (I paid quite a bit more than that...). I've linked to the Amazon pages so you can see what they are. I'm in Devon for collection purposes.

www.amazon.co.uk/Playmobil-4324-Furnished-School-Building/dp/B0021ZQP42/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442483622&sr=8-1&keywords=playmobil+large+school

www.amazon.co.uk/Playmobil-5222-Country-Childrens-Pony/dp/B0077QSM46/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442483654&sr=8-1&keywords=children%27s+pony+farm

I am going to advertise at DD's school aswell.

Peanutbutternutter419 · 17/09/2015 11:06

Marking my place as this thread is amazing!!

If anyone sees any special offers on Duplo or kids 'board' games, hungry hippos or the like...please let me know! I knew I should have started earlier in the year!

Peanutbutternutter419 · 17/09/2015 11:25

Also does anyone know of a good make/brand for the 'make your own...perfume/bath bomb/ stickers etc' kits?

Pobspits · 17/09/2015 11:42

The elsa spectre just arrived - good present for a fiver - thanks!

I was in pound world earlier and they have a lot of stocking fillers in including frozen perfume, make up etc and they also have little disney sets which are along the line of old fashioned polly pockets? Tiny wee house with tiny Minnie / mickey / daisy etc

ScarlettDarling · 17/09/2015 12:02

The wax lyrical website has got a great sale page. Lots of the Christmas range at bargain prices...reed diffusers for £2.50 down from £10.
Great for presents or to fill your own house with lovely Christmassy smells!

FattyNinjaOwl · 17/09/2015 12:04

If anyone has a Dr who fan to buy for this was £10 in whsmith, so that seems a good price. My DS will love it.

ArriettyMatilda · 17/09/2015 12:12

NoManJan don't necessarily discount the kitchen if you have the space for it. Dd was 11 months last Christmas and we bought her the ikea one. It's been played with every day since, just starting to "cook" with it but loved emptying cupboards at around that age and I could direct her to her kitchen rather than ours!

Reastie · 17/09/2015 12:43

Nomanjan we got dd a play kitchen when she was one for Christmas. She was too young to get a lot from it at that age but she loved the play food that we got for it and she still plays with this a lot now. Her favourites are a birthday type wooden cake that velcros into slices and smaller cakes and biscuits. She also has wooden fruit that came with a pretend knife that y can cut them into two as they are velcoed together. These things are always really popular with friends of all ages when they visit too. Did is now 4 and still loves them. Maybe you could try to postpone mil getting the kitchen for next year and see if she'd get some food bits on the basis she might be able to get a kitchen for them to go in next Christmas?

If you are looking for a specific item dont forget to search for it on offeroftheday.co.uk. It'll allow you to rank in order of price - then you can but it through quidco or topcashback for the very best price.

BeamingBrenda · 17/09/2015 12:59
