christmas cracker costumes

Has anybody made a christmas cracker costume for a six year old ? Please help i am really stuck.

Just discovered my 3 1/2 year old is a christmas cracker for the nursery nativity - typical!!! And they promised it would be easy this year...
I think I will try to do the cracker sideways - will probably decorate a plain white top with loads of tinsel and add cracker ends made from shiny card to each side (under her arms). Haven't tried it yet, but that's the theory. Hopefully it will work!!!
