Looking for something (maybe unusual) for my nephew, who although is 9 is going on 29!! We usually give him smallish gift (value of £10 ish - so he has something to open) plus cash, so any inexpensive ideas would be gratefully received.

Booklover -- Horrid Henry Books, Horrible History/Science/Geography Books - they have an Annual out this year too.

Musiclover -- Now 64, Now 65 albums.

Sciencelover (?!) -- the Entertainer Shops are doing a good range of Science kits at £10 at the moment.

Wrestling fan (all 9 year olds seem to be now) , Tesco does figures of the Smackdown American team for about a fiver each.

I got ds (9) a wooden model kit of Tower bridge ( ebay)..it was 5 quid plus 4 p&p and it looks really good.
Errrm Books..anything Michael morpurgo..and he loves the Alistair Fury ones..and those toilet of doom ones.
Saw a make your own rc car kit in Yellow moon online catalogue (i think)...that looked good too. I think it was about 12 quid though

All great ideas which I will look into, thank you (I've got a girl so find boys really hard to buy for).

He is into books and science things so will look at those - as for music he is into classical!

Lexiemum, I also looked at the telescope at Tesco Direct tonight, but OH pointed out that they live in a large well-lit town and wasn't sure whether he'd see much. Great idea, am very tempted to get it anyway.

Thanks again everyone.
