Stuck on ideas for a 4 year old girl

I am seeking ideas for DD as she has Xmas and her birthday within the same week. She is also DC4 (eldest only about to turn 10) and 3 out of the 4 are girls.

So we have dolls, prams, play kitchen, Syvanian/playmobil, duplo, Lego, puzzles etc. She loves playing and plays with it all at different times depending on which of the siblings she is playing with or on her own.

But I can't come up with anything new or different for her. Only one idea so far is to get her a Didney on Ice ticket for her birthday as it is coming a few months later but a few months later is a long time when you are turning 4.

So any suggestions??

Melissa and Doug do magnetic dressing up dolls which my 4 yo loves.

Stomp rocket.

Crafty stuff that gets used up (my first sticky mosaics are popular here).

Goldie blox set.

Saxoflute.

Any Disney fairy or princess stuff went down well with the DDs when they were that age.

DD is the same - 4 on the 19thdec. Im going to attempt to make a doorway puppet theatre (tension rods ans some material).

Then a basket of hand/finger puppets.

Magnetic polydrons (or the cheaper version Magformers) that's been my 4 (nearly 5) year olds wish this year.

On my ds1's 4th birthday he was really excited about an art kit I made. Just a big plastic tub that I filled with paper, card, pens, pencils, chalk, scissors, paints, pipe cleaner, Googly eyes, Pom poms etc. He loved it and it kept him busy for ages. It didn't cost much at all but looked really impressive.

Snap circuits junior looks good and is a bit different.

New scooter/bike/skates.

Kite

Wooden marble run

A kids guitar

A child's telescope went down well last year.

Kinetic sand has been a massive hit.

Castle Logix game is good for independent and family play, any junior board games like scrabble or monopoly. Even operation and pop up pirate are good.

My dc have played with Wedgits at a lot at various places. Same with Squigz.

Thanks for the ideas. Some things there I haven't heard of so I'm off to google.

Is kinetic sand similar to moon sand? I can handle play-doh but moon sand seemed to be found for days after they had had it out.

A wooden dolls house is an idea. Maybe one of the taller ones that would fit barbie dolls. I could see DD2 and DD3 playing with that a lot.

We got DD a wooden dolls house last Christmas and it's a big hit. It'd a tall one that takes barbies.

DD was 4 in July and some things she's likes are playdoh, glitziglobes, aqua beads, amigami, anything crafty really.

She also loves disney princess so is getting some toddler dolls, a costume and shoes. She likes little pony too.

MidnightDinosaur · 27/08/2015 22:41

Never had moon sand so can't comment but so far Kinetic sand has been real easy to clean up. As soon as you have a bit in your hand the rest sticks to it and pretty much leaves no trace. That's why I love it. Wink

Ah definitely not like moon sand then. Moon sand is like dealing with coloured glitter!!
