I'm trying to finish my Christmas shopping and wrapping by the end of September because DC2 is due in November and I can't imagine feeling up to organising stuff in December (and it makes me feel in control of the whole situation and keeps me from fretting about coping with two children!)

Is it too early in September to buy Christmassy chocolates, biscuits etc? Obviously I would check the Best Before date, but are chocolates etc likely to deteriorate slightly over time, even if within date?

Thank you in advance.

No, not if you've got somewhere cool to store them - good idea!

However, I can warn that the discount Lindt advent calendars I just ordered from Amazon had gone off in March, so if you're mass online ordering, keep an eye out!

Thank you AndDeepBreath!

It will be so nice in December not to have to worry about presents.

I'm trying it this year too Smile it'll be a nice change although doubtless I'll STILL end up running round on Christmas Eve again for that one gift I forgot - every year without fail...

Also Amazon have just emailed saying they'll replace the calendar I mentioned so that's great, one less thing to hunt for. Good luck with all yours!

Thanks, you too!
