What about things for when they're a bit bigger eg duplo Lego etc - once they're opened you can put them away for when they're older?

AuditAngel · 18/08/2015 20:16

Not generally approved of on MN, but dummies if you use them, plus a nice little strap to attach to clothes.

I like the name for door suggestion

Loki17 · 18/08/2015 20:29

Any toys that they are likely to use in a few months. Teething rings, Lamaze toys, building blocks, those little rattles that they wear like socks, a jumperoo if you have a little more cash to spend. You will need them eventually.

We have so many toys already. But an outfit a good idea. Also a name plate (don't know it's name yet but should have 8 weeks to buy it).

Dc2 had still had aged 3 a dummy. Strap is good idea.

Bath bubbles for everyone too.

Our stockings are always on the theme:
Something you want (toys etc)
Something you need (practical so knickers, socks, hairbobbins,... etc for older, sudocreme, wipes, bibs, an outfit,..... could be good for babies)
Something to eat (mix of fruit and sweets - perhaps a bottle/weaning stuff for baby)
And something to read (ALWAYS a book - for a baby, could either do a board/cloth book or else an heirloom type book of bedtime stories).

We usually do a Christmassy bath bomb on Christmas eve for everyone (persuades DD to get into the bath and head towards bed, and I get a relaxing bath at some point over the next few days) - but as part of a stocking it would be nice too and baby bubbles are lovely.

In the same theme of a door sign I was thinking something like this- out has name, Dob, weight, time of birth, length and parents' Names too..

I saw it at a friend's place - at least there's no excuse for dh to forget any of the special details!

(sorry about quality of image)
