my daughter (6) also likes my little pony and would love the build a bear one. she likes the equestria dolls aswell.

other hits for her are

  • moshi monsters film and toys.
  • littlest pet shop figures.
  • lego - in particular figures and small builds like the mixels.
  • Disney dvds with figure set.
  • busy books - lots of types and £5 in supermarkets/whsmith.
  • blackboard sticker on wall and a clipboard/paper/pens to pretend being a teacher.
  • dressing up outfits/accessories.
  • palace pets.

I've just ordered some My Little Pony hoodies from eBay - they have manes are are very cute.

Here

Matilda2013 · 18/08/2015 20:54

Oh I think I HAVE to see these my little pony hoodies. Dsd hasn't yet expressed an interest in moshi monsters. Think she's at a middle age where she still likes doc mcstuffin and sheriff callie but also likes my little pony etc, the blackboard would probably be a hit she has an easel in her mums and loved that.
Thank you :) was trying to think of "big" presents rather than all the little sets but she has scooter bike etc and there's a family iPad so can't think of anything else that would work

Disney princess doll (Disney Store one's are good and same price as supermarket ones)
Disney princess dress (not Disney Store!)

Those were DD's big presents when she was 5.

Bike?

Next size up scooter?

Matilda2013 · 18/08/2015 20:56

Oh I love the twilight and pinkie pie hoodies Grin I may have to buy these

She has a scooter she uses and a "wobbly one" which is like TV next advanced one. And a brand new "big bike" as granda bought it "for her birthday" cause you don't get deals like that in December lol!! She may like some dolls actually. She also wants some little dog from the TV that eats bones and poops them out...

For big presents, for dd1 (who is similar age/interests) we are considering a toy shop or Sylvanian Families, would either of those work for you? Another thought would be horse riding lessons?

Reignbeau · 18/08/2015 21:04

How about my little pony junior monopoly

Reignbeau · 18/08/2015 21:08

Or a pony dressing table

Matilda2013 · 18/08/2015 21:09

This thread was a bad idea... First Xmas present purchased in the form of a Twilight hoodie. See I was looking at the my little pony palace but she's not very good at playing by herself here in her room.. So not sure if she'd use sylvanian families ??

Not sure about horse riding lessons but nice idea for something different

Wilkinson had my little pony scribble me cuddly toys reduced to £5 and they had a my little pony doll reduced in the sale too x

DD is the same age and for her birthday / Christmas I am thinking:

Roller skates
Polly pocket
Disney animator dolls (she has a few already and loves them)
Barbies - footballer one and astronaut amongst others

Matilda2013 · 18/08/2015 21:33

What are Disney animator dolls?? I did see people talking about Disney infinity but as we don't have a console that would be way too much of an investment

I think preferring to play with someone is pretty common at that age.

If you think she'd like the pony palace I'd get her it and factor in the pain of playing with her as part of the present. I feel for you though!

Matilda2013 · 18/08/2015 21:37

I just think the pony palace costs slightly less than sylvanian and at least then if she chooses not to play with it too often it's not a huge waste..

Haha yeah we'll definitely be made to play it

I spend a surprising amount of time in the role of Spike at present Grin

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 18/08/2015 21:41

my dd still likes doc mcstuffins too! I stuggled last year with a main gift, instead just got her lots of smaller gifts which she loved. am doing the same this year Grin

another hit is the tent (ikea one) and beanbag which she loves sitting in while reading!

Matilda2013 · 18/08/2015 21:45

Oh dsd got a bed with a tent underneath last year for when we all moved in together! That's still a hit (this is making her sound very spoiled she isn't really lol!)

I think lots of smaller gifts may be the answer. Just need to not overbuy lots of little gifts cause "it's just one more thing "

The disney animator dolls are gorgeous Smile

306235388 · 18/08/2015 23:03

Have a look on Disney website at the animator dolls they are worth the money I think and never find cheaper versions as good.

Dd has ariel, rapunzel and tinkerbell and they're gorgeous and much loved.

Matilda2013 · 18/08/2015 23:40

Ooh they might be good :) especially since they can be bought separately and collected (and she has a bunch of people buying for her)

My daughter loves the horse/unicorn playmobil stuff. I've not actually bought her any but she got some for birthday presents and plays with it all the time

Matilda2013 · 19/08/2015 16:35

Will have a look at this skala thank you for all the ideas so far and for making me start Christmas shopping and have everyone act like I have done the worst thing ever when I say this!! Did you know it's only August?!

I love the animator dolls. Might have to add those to my dd's lists.

1122christy · 20/08/2015 18:59

Hi my daughter was 5 last month and I think I'm getting her playmobil stuff, inside out characters, Minecraft figures, little live pets turtle, I think a tamagotchi. I'm unsure of a main present yet for her. She's not into girly stuff.
My will be 3 year old daughter is getting Sylvanian families, playmobil, Disney store mini animators - these are the same as the animator dolls but mini and they come in a case with accesories. I love them. And Palace pets.
She is also getting a doll house.
