I thought I had better start a new thread in case the old one falls over at 1000 posts.

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to all those who have helped make this a huge success Thanks to all of you, life will be a little bit easier for some of our MNetters this year!

Firstly all of the MNetters - without you this would only have been a pipe dream! Givers and receivers - all take a bow

Then the corporates:
GLTC - for going well beyond the call of duty
Hazell -www.verko.co.uk- for her most generous offer of christmas trees - I hope you join in and make some new friends here
Great expectations - a lovely company with wonderful fairtraded toys and again help beyond what was expected.
LCC - to Jaysmummy for her crafty goodies and warm hearted support
www.thesweetiestop.co.uk - for their generous support

And of course it goes almost without saying, MNHQ!

**

How it works:

You email me:

[email protected]

as a giver or receiver. If a receiver I will ask for a bit more information to find a good match for you. If a giver I will find someone for you to send your gift to.

All matches to be done by 30 November (did I really promise that)

All gifts to be posted by 15 December (at the latest).

I have read a few threads tonight and I want to say "This whole idea is about the children. Helping them."

For me it's about the children, not the adults. Its about the kids happiness, not pride, not guilt, not about one-upmanship.

If you want to give, you can. If you don't or can't don't worry..there will always be other times do something for someone.

MarsLady · 27/11/2006 22:40

ellaschristmasshopping doo dah day! I think you could maybe get a lovely christmas outfit for the baby, some books, a toy and/or a pressie for mum!

(You don't have to get all of them, they were just a few suggestions to get you started)

HelenHismadwife - this is my post from a short time ago!!! I'll mail soapy with mine now.

Hi Soapbox - hoped a message here might be easier for you. Any news on deliveries to your place? - I've had another sweet offer we can consider. Also still not heard from Bristol dropper - I emailed last night. I am happy to email you my home number for them to try if you think that might help.

Soapythelistmaker · 27/11/2006 23:05

Helen - can you email me with it and I'll send it to Flossam

helenhismadwife · 27/11/2006 23:30

hiya Soapy & Flossam

phone number on the way to both of you hope one of you gets it!!!

leggylil · 28/11/2006 00:14

Can I just say to all the recievers

DO NOT FEEL IN ANY WAY GUILTY?ASHAMED!!!!

Everyone needs an helping hand at some point, I know I do on occassion....It's nice to know that there are ppl out there who care enough to offer what little they have in way of support.
If little minded ppl wish to question any kindness that is shown that is their problem, nobody has to justify their actions, if they did then all the spirit of christmas and human kindness will cease to exist.

I believe that it is better to help those who cannot always help themselves, as there will come a time when you may need a helping hand.

Anyone agree???

PS...>

Huge congratulations to soapbox and her sisters, and the piece of paper Dad left for you.

That was lovely.

PinkTinsel your kids are really lovely, how old are they?

JoolsToo we did the shoebox appeal this year.

My kids did two boxes between them, and by the time they'd finished they struggled to get the lids on!!!!!!!

I can't wait to post my gifts this week, just need to get some wrapping paper to put in with them.

swedishmum · 28/11/2006 00:39
