I thought I had better start a new thread in case the old one falls over at 1000 posts.

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to all those who have helped make this a huge success Thanks to all of you, life will be a little bit easier for some of our MNetters this year!

Firstly all of the MNetters - without you this would only have been a pipe dream! Givers and receivers - all take a bow

Then the corporates:
GLTC - for going well beyond the call of duty
Hazell -www.verko.co.uk- for her most generous offer of christmas trees - I hope you join in and make some new friends here
Great expectations - a lovely company with wonderful fairtraded toys and again help beyond what was expected.
LCC - to Jaysmummy for her crafty goodies and warm hearted support
www.thesweetiestop.co.uk - for their generous support

And of course it goes almost without saying, MNHQ!

**

How it works:

You email me:

[email protected]

as a giver or receiver. If a receiver I will ask for a bit more information to find a good match for you. If a giver I will find someone for you to send your gift to.

All matches to be done by 30 November (did I really promise that)

All gifts to be posted by 15 December (at the latest).

buktus - do you mean the value of vouchers or postage?

If value of vouchers - whatever you feel you are able to spare. No-one on the receivers list is going to judge - we are all too thankful for your kindness in even helping out at what was going to be a nightmare time of year.

If postage, I assume a normal first class stamp!!!

mummydoc · 26/11/2006 19:06

soapy - i know you are very snowed under - but a I haven't been matched and I am an H and emailed you the first day of the thread starting....have i been lost...?? all this banter about being up to the P's makes me feel very forlorn ??? i am waiting to go shopping.....

Miaou · 26/11/2006 19:07

ooooooohhhh!!! How exciting!!!!! I can't wait!!

Thankyou santa

buktus · 26/11/2006 19:09

i didnt know if i was being mean by sending £10

Nemoinapeartree · 26/11/2006 19:09

still cant believe peoples generosity.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 26/11/2006 19:11

buktus - dont be silly. The whole point of this thread is to give what you feel comfortable with.

Us recievers are thankful to the bottom of our empty bank balances for the help you lot are givingus xxx

Nemoinapeartree · 26/11/2006 19:11

buktus it is a case of anything gratefully recieved I think. Some people can afford more but if £10 is what you can give then am sure the recipient will be delighted as it is £10 they didnt have!!!

faeriemum · 26/11/2006 19:17

feeling very emotional today, have thrown myself into painting the rest of the living room.....its finally finished.....
gonna have a good 'ole cry in the tub now

Fattymumma · 26/11/2006 19:18

i can assure you if a £10 voucher landed on my doorstep that someone whom i had never met had gone out of their way to send me i would be so incredibly gratefull and very very moved by the generosity.

really Buktis i think the one thing this thread has shown us all is that its not about material aspects of christmas but about the thought behind it.

Flamesparrow · 26/11/2006 19:19

I know Nemo. I think my DH is a bit baffled by this...

munz · 26/11/2006 19:26

buk, agree it's the thought not the amount, the fact that that voucher will enable mum to buy a gift/outfit for her LO for xmas day and to see their little face light up when they unwrap the pressie. that's waht xmas is about LO's and the look of surprise not the material value inside the present.

earlysbird · 26/11/2006 19:26

me too mummydoc, I want to know what to get and where to send it, but don't want to hassle soapbox...

leggylil · 26/11/2006 19:30

It's the thought that counts not the cost.
Afterall it doesn't cost anything to show you care.
A little always goes a long way to the right person.
the song 'dont worry be happy' kinda springs to mind

KBear · 26/11/2006 19:38

I just got my email!

Soapy's family are probably starving today with no clean clothes for tomorrow, no housework done. She's hunched over the keyboard sorting out Christmas!
