I hate tinsel

[bah humbug]

NomDePlume · 24/11/2006 17:51

white lights only

busybusymum · 24/11/2006 17:52

green tree, lots of multi coloured lights and tinsel, no colour theme!

BudaBeast · 24/11/2006 17:53

Green tree.

NO tinsel anywhere!

White lights. Tree is themed red, green, gold and some silver.

Had a second tree last year (a small real one) as had bought some fab decs in Ikea that didn't go with my colours on main tree! They were hot pink, turquise, lime green, orange and red. Looked good.

FireFaerie · 24/11/2006 17:54

simple one coloured lights, and a few of those long tinsel strand things, that arent actually tinsel IYKWIM. I think it looks lovely, without looking OTT
IMO anyways
Good luck on finding the perfectly decorated tree

granarybeck · 24/11/2006 17:54

Used to do the tasteful coordinated tree, but as dcs have got bigger they love doing it themselves so is noe multi coloured with everything on, still looks nice though!

2 trees - one "adult" tree int he hall - white lights, silver decs. The other "child" friendly tree in playroom - home made decs, no style just lots of love. Both are "perfect", but I couldn't cope with only 1!

Overtiredmum · 24/11/2006 17:56

My tree is green (artificial I'm afraid!) but with simply white lights with silver and clear decs, no tinsel cos I don't really like it. Have a smaller tree for my bay window which is green with red and gold decs on it, and I have a lovely garland above my fire place. All very co-ordinated I'm afraid but I guess that will change when DS is old enough to want lots of colour and tinsel etc.

We are putting the tree in the hall this year

ComeOVeneer · 24/11/2006 17:59

I am planning to do the same as Ladtmuck when we move and have a playroom. But currently have one which has co-ordinated gold and burgundy decorations, no tinsel and tiny white lights.

NomDePlume · 24/11/2006 18:00

we will still decorate the living room but just no tree because it means we have to move the furniture around to accomodate it

Gobbledigook · 24/11/2006 18:02

Mine is a green tree.

White lights with red and gold baubles. No tinsel. Ours goes in the hall too and it's 8 or 9ft.

buktus · 24/11/2006 18:03

I use baubles. A few big, gorgeous posh ones and lots of small plainer oners. I found some beautiful handpainted ones last year in my local garden centre of all places.

TheHighwayCod · 24/11/2006 18:09

well i htink youll fidn my ceielignas so high you na barely see them

NomDePlume · 24/11/2006 18:09

Department stores are generally a good place to start looking for nice baubles etc

NomDePlume · 24/11/2006 18:10

rofl cod.

We have quite low/average ceilings here. Prob about 10 feet.

iota · 24/11/2006 18:10

nah cod, you're just very short-sighted
