we hav esuper low and cool ones in our hamster home

MoreEggnogAnyone · 24/11/2006 18:11

We do the big family 'lets go and pick our Christmas tree thing' with my sister and BIL. The kids love it. I'd like my tree to be co-ordinated but within 2 days the kids and the cat have been at it!

earlysbird · 24/11/2006 18:11

no tinsel, real tree, white lights, wooden kids' decorations and silver/red baubles, attempting to be tasteful...?

NomDePlume · 24/11/2006 18:12

M&S had some pretty ones too (baubles)

Gobbledigook · 24/11/2006 18:12

cod are you taking the piss?!

Like NDP I've got a selection of 'posh' ones from John Lewis, then some plain gold and red ones from Matalan I think. The boys usually get a nice one each every year. THey've got wooden soldier ones and bears with their names on, that kind of thing. This year JT has bought them little squashy fabric ones.

buktus · 24/11/2006 18:12

i usually do the same sort of thing get some really nice baubles and then lots of cheaper ones from asda or somewhere and tend to use more of the dearer ones near the top too less likely for the dog to take them off hiself or for dd to take them off to throw for the dog

NomDePlume · 24/11/2006 18:15

iota · 24/11/2006 18:15

My tree is tres tasteful my dear cod!!!

LOOBYLOU2 · 24/11/2006 18:19

I love real trees but the only place I can put it in the lounge is in the bay in front of a radiator so we compromise with a six foot artificial one
I end up buying extra baubles every year - can't resist. The garden centres have great displays and choice.
Going a bit arty in the hall this year
I've bought some amish looking wooden hearts from Ikea and some white wooden reindeer from the Denby factory shop. I'm going to make some biscuits and ice them with DDas near to Xmas eve as I can and then hang them all on some willow branches I've pinched off my neighbour

iota · 24/11/2006 18:19

This year I am going for a 'shaker' style theme lots of traditional decorations, red baubles and a gorgeous fairy which cost a bloody fortune! I am not sure we will be able to afford a tree after paying for the fairy.

xmasmummy · 24/11/2006 18:34

i have a grren 7ft tree with snow. as kids are really little im afraid it will be covered in winnie the pooh, even the angel on top is a pooh bear and multi coloured flashing lights
