Sign of the times. Two tree families.

Gobbledigook · 24/11/2006 19:51

Hehe fishter. Well your day can't have been any worse than mine - in the last 24 hours ds3 has done a poo on the coffee table in the playroom, I've been sick on the bedroom carpet, ds3 has thrown up twice in a very spectacular fashion and I've reversed my mother of a car into a poor little Ford Ka and trashed it's door.

Ho hum.

NomDePlume · 24/11/2006 19:52

Jeeez, what a shittola day Gobble, and there was you saying how easy your car is to manouvre

NomDePlume · 24/11/2006 19:53

sorry, "and there you were..."

Have had wine and so my grammar has gone up the pipe

Gobbledigook · 24/11/2006 19:54

I know. The parking sensors even beeped but before I even registered I'd hit it! How pathetic and humiliating!! There's probably a couple of hundred quid up the swanny.

Btw, have you signed up for Midlands meet up?

BaileysMilkshake · 24/11/2006 19:55

Lots of eclectic bits and pieces handed down through generations from mine and DH's family, plus stuff we have bought together and with DD choosing - all colours, loads of coloured lights loads of tinsel and it looks fab!

Once decorated I love to lie on my back with DD and stare up into the wonder that we have created and see the shimmering lights reflecting of the multi-coloured baubles!

Aww - shame we're not putting our tree up till bump arrives as I am all in the mood now!

Fattymumma · 24/11/2006 19:57

i would normally have a real christmas tree and have only Red or gold balls, no tinsel but ribbon instead and an angel as a tree topper.

i don't have any foil dangly things anywhere its normally very beautifull traditional swags which we have a couple ready made and we always make a real one from pine cones and ivy branches for above the mantle.

This year we will be having the nicest tree i can find for less than a tenner (wish me luck) and the box of odd bits and pieces for the tree that my mum has given me.

NomDePlume · 24/11/2006 19:58

The summer one ? That's 7 months away, I can't plan that far ahead !!!!

nikkie · 24/11/2006 21:36

6ft slightly lobsided fake tree(prob in its last year ) covered in random decs made by kids and some brought back by my Mam from various Xmas markets.Usually the decs are all kid height and last year we has some santas that were all grouped together on one branch (dd2 likes sets!)

mousiemousie · 24/11/2006 21:38

Themed trees rock

So do unthemed ones

They are all lovely, don't see how you can go wrong really!

Bozza · 24/11/2006 21:50

We will have a real tree. It will be decorated with an "eclectic" (that's the word for mish-mash, right?) collection of:
old baubles donated by my Mum (some of which came from an elderly neighbour when I was growing up so are probably older than me)
cheapy red/gold baubles I bought in Woolies when I was single
quite nice baubles bought when DH and I were first a couple
wooden decorations bought since having kids
individual decorations chosen by the DCs each year
unique items hnadcrafted by the DCs

Along with white flashing lights, a gold star atop, strings of beads (if I put them on), some red bows and those strands of tinsel type things that are not real tinsel.

LieselVonTrapp · 24/11/2006 21:51

I have to have my tree the same as my house - no Im gonna stop this now cause listening to me speak just now is V. sad
