From this Sat, £14.99.

Can't do a link to it because it has 3 sodding underscores in it and my set-up baulks at that and turns them into some kind of weird code instead but anyway, this is the Sat offers page

81 pieces! Thanks for the link... I don't know what DH would say to anymore train track, but it looks too good an offer to miss!

VanillaMilkshake · 22/11/2006 21:19

DD loves her train set - but like you Mumatuk DH doesnt feel we need more track - I personally want some junctions and bridges. I cant enlarge the picture - but do you think this set my fit Brio like sets??

mumatuks · 22/11/2006 21:20

hmm. hang on...

mumatuks · 22/11/2006 21:22

I think it would fit, and I reckon it'd be cheaper to buy another set rather than the extras. Isn't it a bugger, there's never enough of the sort you need, bends or straights!!

I'd like more track as the DS's are getting bored with Mummys design, although I'm quite pleased with it myself!

TeeCee · 22/11/2006 21:23

Thanks lovely lady
Love a Lidl bargin after my 5.99 bike that usuyally retails for 70quid

VanillaMilkshake · 22/11/2006 21:26

Thanks Mumatuk - you can also get track from Tesc, £1.89 for 4 straight pieces or 4 curved pieces. In small packs like that you can sneak them in under DH's nose. They look like packets of custartd creams too Also lots of different trains. DD picked out a circus train last time for about £3.89. Has 4 or 5 carriages and three wooden animals.

mumatuks · 22/11/2006 21:30

sounds good VM. I'll have to try "sneaking them in" (!) but your name is making me want one of those thick (like ice cream) vanilla milkshakes"!!

VanillaMilkshake · 22/11/2006 21:32

Sorry, dont mean to encourage salivation - will be changing soon to a more festive tipple, not that I can drink anything this year if BF goes according to plan

Had a look at this today, and it is fantastic value, so bumping for anyone who hasn't seen it; our Lidl has loads left, it's a relatively small box (unlike eg the like-a-bike) so they get lots in.

Click on the small pic to get a close-up and see what's in it - a Brio set similar to this would cost at least £50.

another bump.

The picture has gone now but do go have a look in Lidl, it's a huge set and only £14.99

Just want to add, I got one of these and it looks fab!!

Lio · 28/11/2006 10:49

Have already bought the Tchibo version for ds for Christmas. The last Tchibo one we bought (which he plays with almost every day a year on) is great.

JanH · 29/11/2006 13:52

The Lidl one is much better value though (but limited availability of course)

Maybe DD and I will pay a visit to Lidl, although DS doesn't really need any more track, does he?

JanH · 29/11/2006 14:05

Idris, you can never have too much Brio track

(The Lidl set includes 2 of those triple branch line things, for ever more complex track arrangements!)

IdrisTheDragon · 29/11/2006 14:52

Ooh, triple branch line thingys .

Maybe I will get one for DS (3) and DH (31 going on 3) to share .
