I normally send my friend a case of wine for Xmas as its easy to organise, doesn't need wrapping and she is over the moon with it. This year, she is pg and due in Feb/March. Its a v long awaited baby and i don't want to send her wine as normal as she won't drink it( v anti drinking at all during pg) Any ideas for an online gift/easy delivery, not baby related as don't want to tempt fate. I had thought of one of those pamper days/virgin experience type things, but am limited to a max of £50 and they seem to be more than that.

ooh it think the pamper day thing would be lovely.

Gloworm · 20/11/2006 21:56

how about finding an aromatherapy massage therapist who specialises in pregnancy massage?

corrina28 · 20/11/2006 21:59

pamper days have a look near the bottom at new beginnings £66 tho.

Gloworm · 20/11/2006 22:08

thats the kind of thing I was thinking off....although £66 sounds a bit steep
(I suppose prices will vary from one company to another, and depending on whereabouts she lives)

Lots of pampery things are severely limited when it comes to pg ladies (my dh took me to one and I spent the whole time sat by the pool trying not to cry!)
Would recommend reflexology though, have a google and find a practitioner as close to her home as possible. Then she can always leave it until after the baby comes along if she wants.

If you go into Boots and load a gift card with £20 or more, you can send off for a free pamper treatment voucher to enjoy at a selected salon near you (or your friend).
Treatments invlude:
Acupressure
Aromatherapy Massage
Back Massage
Facial
Indian Head Massage
Manicure or Pedicure
Reflexology
Reiki
Sports Massage

So you get twice the treats, spend the gift card on luxuries in the shop and take time out to unwind with a free pamper treatment.

Gorgeous toiletries and/or a lovely dressing gown for the birth - after you've done that you definitely want to be pampered! I received a lovely washbag of goodies for my birthday when pg and it was a great present. I bought myself the lovely dressing gown!

EllieChocolateOrange · 21/11/2006 20:09

anything from amazon. how about the complete collection of milly molly mandy?

Rookiemum · 21/11/2006 20:38

Clarins do a wonderful pre/post natal pamper treatment which costs £39.00, totally recommend it

figgypud · 21/11/2006 21:15

Hi there
Last year when I was pg my PIL sent me a really beautiful maternity top from mamas and papas
It was great to have a top for "going out" in even though I didn't go out loads its something I wouldn't have bought myself!
Failing that toiletries are always good! Lush's stuff is great I LOVED that when I was PG!

dmo · 21/11/2006 22:15

organise a personal shopper in debemhams
(personal shopper free) and will be a lovely treat for easter

photo session (of her pregnant) which she can keep forever

organise somebody to do an ironing service for her for a month

I was given an aromastone with a little box of oils when preg with ds1. I loved it so much, still do. It makes my smelly house smell lovley and I was able to use the oils for all sorts (in fact it started my aromatherapy obsession, I now have a huge box!) and I buy one for all my pregnant friends.

here
