Love many many xmas films, too hard to pick!
Love Muppets Christmas Carole - sorry HTFST!
Agree with MMJanitor - Elf is more than a bit dodgy! Saw it with a 400 7-11 year olds. Only laughed once at the only joke partially aimed at adults and had to spend the rest of the day trying to avoid explaining it!
Can we count Love Actually?

sweetmonkey · 16/11/2006 12:42

i think elf is a really cute film for christmas and love actually too (agreeing with daisybell)

PrincessPeaHead · 16/11/2006 12:43

consequently could never bring myself to watch the movie. bah

I have a dvd that I have made with...
Miricale on 34th Street
Home Alone 2 lost in New York
Its a wonderful Life
Muppet Christmas Carol
The snowman

I love them all!!!

BoingBoing · 16/11/2006 13:43

Scrooged I think it's called. Anyway, it's the one with Bill Murray as a modern day Scrooge. Brilliant. I like the bit where he wants to staple antlers to the mice to make them little reindeer, but I'm sick like that. Nauseating, American, sentimental 'schmaltz' I really really hate.

On a more charming note, It's a Wonderful Life is an annual must, to go with the Great Escape and whichever Bond movie they're showing....

saltire · 16/11/2006 14:15

Mine, in no particular order are

Polar Express
White Christmas
Scrooge - the Albert Finney version
Santa Claus 1 and 2
It's a wnoderful life

Ds2 has discovered the Home Alone 1&2 dvds so we are watching those endlessly at the minute.

saffy202 · 16/11/2006 14:27

I think we must be the only family who hated the Polar Express. I bought it for Christmas Eve last year and we all thought it was rubbish including ds2 who will watch any movie

louii · 16/11/2006 14:35

Bad Santa, with Billy-Bob Thornton is my favourite.

southeastastra · 16/11/2006 14:41

die hard is good and set at christmas (does that count)!

Daisybelle · 16/11/2006 14:59

Of course it does southeastastra! I'd forgotten about that one. Also love When Harry met Sally. Not seen Polar Express, was given it last year but can't bring myself to watsh it as person who gave it to me got it for xmas, watched it once and passed it on - not a great review!

Noodlekitty · 16/11/2006 16:12

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation for me.

And Love Actually. Love that film.
