Our school staff have always made a donation to charity rather than send cards and this year our school have asked if the children and families would like to contribute too.
So this year, we have a choice to either send cards as usual, or, buy donkeys and goats through Oxfams "unwrapped" scheme.
So this year instead of sending their friends and teahers cards we are making a donation and handing it to the school.
I will get my children to make a handwritten cards instead to send saying "Happy Xmas, no card this year as we are buying a donkey!"
Maybe other PTA's / schools councils could consider, even for next year as an alternative.
