Sorry I didnt explain I want to buy a voucher type thing. Like oxfam do where you buy a goat or something. I want to buy an old lady something or an under privilaged child something and give the voucher to a family member.

The Oxfam site is:
oxfamunwrapped.com

I've looked at a few others.
world vision ,

Save the children
Unique Gifts
and,
Plan: gifts4life.org

I wanted something for this country rather than abroad on this occasion. We already donate to Oxfam.

Thanks

We made a donation to a local childrens hospice last year. But I know what you mean about christmas gifts for those in need in the UK, there doesn't appear to be a 'shoebox' type scheme for causes here. I'll be interested to hear if there are.

That's right. I really thought I could do something for someone local or that had a connection with the person I am buying the gift donation for.

Well it looks like I can make a one off donation to a uk charity but I will have to make my own card to say what I have bought.

I would like to donate to a prezzie for a foster child or a child in care, how would I go about that?
