None, because they are foul (yes, I know I'm weird - don't like Christmas cake or pudding either)

Quootiepie · 12/11/2006 13:48

third pie? or third packet? I cant STAND them... but DH had some about 2 weeks ago

aDadOnMumsnet · 12/11/2006 13:49

I think they are 'orrible as well! Christmas pudding awful, and Christmas cake not much better.

I think serenity and I are in the minority though.

I am one of the few who likes brussel sprouts (just to add to my weirdness)

tortoise · 12/11/2006 13:50

Ive not had any yet but thats because once i start eating them i want them everyday.I will make my own soon.
Just made christmas shape biscuits with DD's while listening to christmas songs!

Quootiepie · 12/11/2006 13:50

and me! I dont like mince pies, christmas cake, or pudding (I do peal off the icing and marzipan though )

orangecake · 12/11/2006 14:12

my third pie quootie! (not packet)

I love christmas pudding but not so keen on the cake.

brussel sprouts are also a favourite, we eat them whenever they are in season (they are lovely roasted btw)

I bought some brussel sprouts this morning from the market. I like them par-boiled then pan fried in butter with chestnuts. Mmmm. Have even converted my dp to them.

serenity · 12/11/2006 14:18

I find Brussel Sprouts too bitter, but it might have been the cack way my family cooked them. I'd be willing to give them a go if someone can suggest a tastier cooking method than boiling. can you eat them raw? Cabbage is vile cooked, but nice raw.

nikkie · 12/11/2006 18:52

My Mam made a batch last week so had to have a few(read6 ) and there was tasters in M&S yesterday as well.I don't like Xmas cake or pud though.

corrina28 · 12/11/2006 19:02

lexiemum · 12/11/2006 19:21

bought a pack in costco yesterday - they are huge and absolutely gorgeous. we were going to freeze them but demolished them quite quickly

PeachyClair · 12/11/2006 19:23

My parents are conductinga MASSIVE experiment and tasting every brand they can find in an attempt to find the perfect ones for Christmas. Bizarre, but I think they're enjoying it LOL! Not sure why not making their own- they make all their own bread funnily wenough- but no, it has to tbe the annual taste experiment.

But my aprents adore Christmas; Dad has sprouts as his all time favourite food, and they take it very seriously, in a novelty ear rings and singing Christmas tree sort of way.

Surfermum · 12/11/2006 19:26

One, today, home made by sister's MIL.

I love the puff pastry ones but am staying off them until December as I'm meant to be losing weight.

FatThighs · 12/11/2006 19:32

LadyTophamHatt · 12/11/2006 19:37

VanillaMilkshake · 12/11/2006 20:32

I have had one from Asda's range that someone bought in to work - I wonr in a dept where everyone is at least 15 years older than me and where as I am happy with a doughnut and can of pepsi they like mince pies and cups of tea.

Not really a mince pie fan but it was quite nice - not a jam doughnut - but nice all the same!
