Ok - have invited MIL and step PIL up for Christmas. She hasn't been in my house since the 3rd of March, she has however, once every three weeks gone to visit my BIL and SIl (who live 30 miles down the road from us).
Anyway, she has now decided that she will come up on the 22nd, however on the 23rd she will spend the day with BIL and SIL and the nephews. Last night she called to say that SIL was going to be on her own all day with the boys as BIL is a chef and is working. My response was "yes, and?". Her reply was,
"well i was thinking maybe she could come up to you, DH (mine, not hers) could drive down about 9am and get them and take them back about 6, and he could pick his brother up on the way".
No way am i having that woman in my house, especially not at christmas and no way is my DH going to pick them up or take them back - it's his Christmas as well, and he will want to have a couple of glassses of wine.
I waish i had never asked her - with a bit of luck she will take pity on SIL and go there instead.
Also still having "discussions" with my mother about her wanting my brother to come up on boxing Day with her and my step-dad, and i'm saying no.
